The Health Benefits Of Dogs And Cats
A.According to Robinson and Segal in "The Health Benefits of Dogs and Cats", studies show that people are less likely to suffer from depression if
they have a pet.
B.Pets offer unconditional love. To them, you are their entire world. Are your relationships with family and loved ones complex and difficult to
understand and deal with? Apet can be a great remedy. You don't have to worry about hurting your pet's feelings or getting advice you don't need or
want.
C.Adding a little responsibility can help anyone's quality of life, as long as it is not too much. Owning a dog gives attention to simple, and yet
important things that are necessary to owning a dog. Taking care of a pet can help give you a sense of your own value and importance; It ... Show more

5.Why?
A.Robinson and Segal say that dogs fulfill the basic human need to touch, which helps all humans in the long–run. Even some of the worst criminals
have changed over time when given a dog to take care of.
B.Dogs typically have a routine schedule– eat, walk, sleep, and play. So, when the owner can stick to this schedule as well, both benefit from exercise,
eating, and sleeping.

6.Better mood
A.According to "The Health Benefits of Dogs and Cats," playing with a pet can release the hormones of dopamine and serotonin, which make you
calm and relaxed.

A.Olive is an emotional support dog, who helps me with my anxiety and depression. Whenever I have a panic attack, she lays on my chest. When I
feel empty, she encourages me to play with her. I don't wake up with night terrors anymore, and I feel more calm and relaxed everyday that she is with
me. She's a wonderful dog that I adore.
As she walked in here, I saw smiles and "oohs and ahhs"– let me ask you, are you all in a somewhat better mood now that you've seen her? She loves

Whether you new friend is a puppy or an older dog you rescued from the pound or adopted from another person, your choice in treats affects the
health of the dog. Many treats are filled with chemicals and tons of corn or grain and both are bad for hair and skin maintenance and for digestion.
Depending on the dog, chemicals and grains could adversely affect your dog's health due to an intolerance or allergy to some ingredients.
Skin and Coat
What goes in must come out, and with dogs, that means not only through the digestive system. A dog's skin and coat are affected by ingredients in the
food, including treats, that you feed it. For a softer coat and better skin condition, feed all–natural treats. The chemicals in the treats affect coat growth

Research Paper On Therapy Dog
A therapy dog is a dog used in animal–assisted therapy sessions primarily in institutions such as nursing homes, some schools, hospitals, schools, old
people's homes, and prisons. They are great for giving unconditional love and gratitude to people, with no concern as to their age, race, infirmity or
background. Want yourdog to become one? Therapy dog training is vital in that case.
Previous to starting therapy dog training it is imperative that you are aware of the reason behind the practice as a whole and the benefits of a correctly
trained therapy dog. The responsibility of the therapy dog is to offer companionship, comfort to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and medical
centers and to aid in the rehabilitation process, as they attend schools and library's to listen to children read, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Dogs are fantastic creatures. They can honestly be a man's best friend if you let them. They are very considerate, warm and friendly companions. Their
loyalty and friendliness have helped many people to recover from trauma, whether it be physical or mental.
Scientists have observed people training their dogs. These were people with some trauma. The conclusion of the study was that dog training can
indeed help people overcome medical problems. Dogs usually have unconditional love, and they are very loyal as well. This makes many people's
hearts warm up. It gives them that empowering feeling they need to overcome their setbacks in life.
Dog training therapy continues to go mainstream these days. It's even at the point where hospitals and other clinics are facilitating dog visitation.
Especially children's hospitals are open to the idea, and many of them are trading in the clowns for

Why Shelter Dogs Should Not Be Put Down
"Why Shelter Dogs Should not be put down, but used to benefit our society".
Animal Euthanasia, is a process during which an animal is put to death. According to Humane society "about 2.4 million healthy, adoptable cats and
dogs – about one every 13 seconds– are put down in U.S shelters each year." (humane society.) The saying that dogs are a man's best friend is often
thought of when thinking of dogs, but what if I tell you the man is the dog 's best friend, or even the only friend, only family. So often we see people
buying Dogs because they are so cute! and so warm/fuzzy/cuddly! and 90% of the time those dogs do not stay with this family, either they take too
much time, decide to move, not enough space or the saddest one they can no longer afford it, and those dogs find their way to the shelter. The family
who put their dogs in shelters think it is the best decision, but in turn, it's really a death sentence. According to Akita Rescue, a dog has "72 hours to
find a new family from the moment you drop it off." (Anonymous) after this time the animal gets put down, So why do this to your pet? to any pet? why
have them sit in a cell for no reason, other than you not having enough time or no longer wanting to take care of it; that Dog doesn 't have relatives
to which he can go to when things go bad, he can 't just go to his sister, mother, father, or grandparents to that dog you are the world, and by putting
your dog in the shelter the dog loses not only you but also his world.

If worm infestation is suspected at an early stage then promt treatment is usually very effective.
Fleas and more fleas
As any dog owner knows, keeping your dog flea free is a challenge. While topical medications keep them at bay, a new pet or forgetting to use the
medication will put your dog at risk for this health problem. If you think your dog has fleas, it probably does.
Excessive scratching, hair loss, flea dirt, and hair loss are common symptoms of fleas in a dog. Since untreated fleas can cause further health
problems for a dog, talk to a vet about flea medication for a dog. Generally this will include a flea bath and then using a topical medication every few
months that will keep fleas away.
Those hot spots
One health problem that you may not think of is hot spots. This is a medical term for bare, inflamed areas on a dog's body that show up periodically.
This is actually dermatitis generally caused by a bacterial skin infection.
Since hot spots are caused by a variety of other problems like fleas, there isn't generally one recommended treatment. Generally, a vet will recommend
antibiotics or a topical medication that will give relief in the area so that the dog avoids chewing or scratching it. Generally hot spots will clear up

Dachshund Informative Speech
Our dachshunds love us, and we love them right back. Naturally, we want what's best for them. But buying dog food is daunting with so many options
available.
How do you know which food is best? What if you pick the wrong one and it makes your dog sick? Or worse, affects his quality of life?
My mother bred dogs and I grew up with them, which was both wonderful and painful. Some of them died from diseases that might have been treated
or prevented with proper nutrition.
That's why I'm sharing what I've learned – so your loving companion can live a longer, healthier life.

The information listed here will help you understand your dog's nutritional needs and the diseases that can come from an insufficient diet. Before we

If your dachshund is getting adequate nutrition, you should be able to feel his ribs without seeing them. You don't want your dog to get roly–poly.

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Heart Disease
Heart disease is common among dogs – almost as common as it is in humans. If you own a dog, and you have some concerns about your dog 's
health, it is important to understand what type of heart disease complications your dog may experience, especially in response to infection, illness,
diet, and lack of exercise. For many dogs the symptoms and complications of heart disease are similar to what you would expect to see in human
symptoms. Heart disease in dog 's can be attributed to congenital complications as well. Typically, when your dog is young, you will want to have your
dog evaluated to determine if there are any congenital complications that may pre–dispose your dog to heart complications early in life. When
compounded by heart disease development, due to poor diet or other infections, your dog will typically show signs of poor tolerance for exercise,
have some swelling around the stomach and may even show signs of weight loss. When evaluated, your dog 's veterinarian is going to listen for the
presence of a gallop heart sound which is indicative of swelling in and around the heart. The gallop heart sound will be a sound that is similar to a
third heart beat or echo and can typically only be heard with a stethoscope. Heart murmurs in dogs are also quite common and while they can, to some
extent, be corrected with surgery, most dogs will live a long time with heart murmur. But, when heart disease is a concern, you will want to address the
heart murmur issues as well.

The Stuffed Winnie The Pooh Bear Analysis
Growing up, I owned a stuffed Winnie the Pooh bear. I loved the show, and loved Pooh even more. On Sundays, I would dress my Pooh bear in my
sister and I's doll clothes and bring it with me to church. One Sunday, an older kid at Sunday School mocked my Winnie the Pooh bear, because
Pooh is a boy but I made mine wear a dress. At the young age of 5, I didn't understand why Pooh couldn't be a girl to me, even though the character
from the television show was a boy. I left Sunday School that day sad and confused. I always thought of Pooh as a girl, and it crushed me to find out
different. I decided I would change my favorite character to a girl character, get a new stuffed animal, and let her wear dresses to church to avoid
getting mocked. However,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If this continues, girls self–confidences will continue spiraling downward. Young girls ambitions will be diminished, and will force themselves into
being housewives or working at jobs society deems "appropriate" for them. Women have made many influential changes in America the last century,
why let it all stop? As Katha Pollitt said, "our preschoolers don't have time. My funny, clever, bold, adventurous daughter is forming her gender ideas
right now" (Pollitt 3). It's possible that children could try and monitor their own television usage, or that parents could monitor it more for them.
However, whether it be a minute or an hour, turning on the television to a children's program will display harsh stereotypes and gender roles. That is
why I suggest a change in entertainment. It's almost 2016, television and books should be gender neutral and help kids aspire to be more, not

Health Benefits Of Dog Park
Well i think that dog prks a a great idea, because as stated in the paragragh " dogs need exercise, it'll prevent bad behavior and restlessness, and give
dogs a safe and friendly place to play and have fun with orthe dogs. Now im not saying that a dog park doesn't have its own issues because it does.
Dogs can bark to loud, the owners could not follow the rules and regulations, and worst of all if someone's dog hurts somebody that be cause some
serious troublefor the both of them.
A dog park is a grat idea for those who have limited space and can't get their dog's the exercise they need to be strong and healthy. I know some
people who say that taking their dogs on morning walks is good enough. Now be that as it may what about having more ... Show more content on

When people dont have the proper means to take care of their dog's physical needs the dog becomes more aggressive due to it being alone for most of
its day. But by having a dog park it gives your dog a chance to interact with other dogs. So you'll be saving you dog from becoming so mean that you
have to take it to an animal shelter. " In one study done in 2013, researchers reported that 65% of owners who left their dogs at shelters blamed it on the
dog's bad behavior."
Now having a dog park doesn't mean it wont come with its own challenges because it will. You'll have people who won't respect the rules and
regulations. From that they'll mess it up for everyone. But thats not the only thing some people might not have trianed their dog like they needed to so
their dog might pick fights with other dogs and even try or might bite someone. Causing that person to sue not only the state but also the Person who's
dog bit him. Possibly causing the whole park to shut down ruining it for everybody.
So in concluesion i think that a dog park would be a great idea because it'll give the dogs the proper exercise they need, aswell as preventing bad
behavior and them becoming restless, it'll give your dog a chance to interact with other dogs. But i strogly advise that in order to keep the dog park
looking nice and in shape the dog owners need to try there best to follow the rules and

Loose Animal Laws
Dogs remain one of the friendliest and most beloved animals to humans, but despite their ability to sustain a lovable reputation, dogs do not possess
the ability to realize the ramifications of their actions. Homes built in the rural area are built fenceless, giving dogs a literal doorway to run loose
because the owner chooses not to enclose their property. Loose dogs must be properly restrained because they cause neighborhood nuisances,
contaminate property, and above all violate animal laws.
Dogs are not born to live in an enclosed house, they deserve to freely run in open space and relish the taste of freedom. While that fact remains an
important part of making a happier dog, the fact of having consideration and respect for others also remains crucial. Construction sites for new homes
aren't a rare site in developing neighborhoods. A neighbor's loose dog disrupted some builders at work by playing around a hazardous construction site
behind my house. The incongruous dog persistently attempted to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For a dog to be labeled as "at large," it must be off the owner's property and unrestrained, with or without the owner's knowledge. According to Fort
Bend County Animal Services, dogs are required "to be kept under restraint," and that, "the owner of the any dog or cat will be held responsible for the
action of the pet." Moreover, authority has consent to impound any animal at large, and any person may pick up an animal at large to Animal
Control. A dog running unleashed and causing public nuisances violates two sections of Needville's animal laws, giving immediate consent for
impoundment of the accused dog (Animal Laws). Some pet owners choose to ignore the laws, or even devalue them because the issue seems too
minor. However, just as people must learn traffic laws when they buy a car and receive their driver's license, pet owners must have some awareness

Health Benefits Of Owning A Dog
Humans Need Dogs
Most people know that pets are good companions, but they can also be therapists, teachers, and healers. "Sixty–two percent of American households

things that might come to mind, are the dogs that help the blind or disabled. Another thought might be the dog that saves a family from their burning
home. Today, there are dogs that help with autistic children, type 1 diabetes people, those that have seizures, and mental health issues, veterans with

Animals tend to do things that always makes us laugh. For example, they will dig into the ground and rub their head around on the floor. When it
comes to animal–assisted therapy sessions, pets are bringing about a significant reduction in anxiety for patients with mood and psychotic disorder.
Even women who just had a baby and are experiencing the baby blues can get relieved from having a pet to interact with.
Dogs who help people with autism are fairly new to our world. Autistic people benefit from the assistance of dogs in the area of emotional support.
The dog is simply there for the autistic human. A dog companion is helpful in reducing sensory overload, which is a problem in people who have
autism. The dog gives the autistic person a focal point, easing them through the constant environmental stimuli of the world. Autistic children or adults
may make crazy noises, use funny body language and may not even speak. "The kindest and gentleness of the autism assistance dog helps the child
by just being there being tolerant of a child who never grows up." (Project Chance,2011) Autism tolerance dogs are trained to use intervention tasks
like touch or pressure to help an autistic person who is using a behavior over and over. This behavior is referred to as "stemming."
Children who have formed bonds with companion animals are more confident and have stronger relationships

Dogs Encourage Better Health Essay
The young royals, Prince William and Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, created headlines last week by revealing the name of their new puppy.
Not mentioned in the multitude of stories is how the dog's presence can affect the health of the future King and Queen. The latest addition to the Royal
family, Lupo a four–month–old black cocker spaniel, is an ideal choice of pet for more than his inability to inherit the throne. Medical studies around
the world have concluded dogs encourage better health, and adopting a dog statistically boosts the life expectancy of the monarchial pair. Not only is
a dog man's best friend, but Rover's presence could be better than an apple a day for you.

"The ownership of a dog can also lead to increases in physical activity and facilitate the development of social contacts, which may enhance both
physiological and psychological human health in a more indirect manner."
Studies in Germany, Australia, and China point to dog ownership as sound public policy. An examination of Chinese women (men were excluded)
reported increased exercise, fewer doctor visits, and diminished use of sick days at work when a dog is present in the home. Australian and German
dog owners were found to use free governmental health services less than the general populace. Pet owners in those countries made approximately 12
to 15% fewer annual doctor visits than their petless peers. German pet owners spent 32% fewer nights in a hospital. The benefits appeared particularly
strong for elderly people, the population group with the worst constitutions and heaviest use of health services. The economic benefit was substantial,
approximating savings in health expenditure of $5.59 billion for Germany and $3.86 billion for Australia annually.
As with everything in life, age can be a relevant or limiting factor to owning a dog. However, the positives of dog ownership seem to outweigh
negligible and manageable negatives. Surveys targeted at pet owners 60 years and older showed less stress and loneliness, better nutrition, and a
stronger focus on the present. Seniors walking a dog enjoy a boost in parasympathetic nervous system

Why Do Dog Sneezing
Dog Sneezing
By Tim Delaney
Jan 4, 2013
Are you concerned about your dogs' constant sneezing? If your dog is sneezing, it's not always a reason for concern. Dog sneezing is often a natural
reaction to particles, pollen, or some other irritant in the dog's nasal membranes. Sneezing is not always due to allergies or sickness; however, if your
dog is suffering from an illness like kennel cough (Bordetella) or some other bronchial infection, then you should consider putting your pet on all natural
pet health supplements, which can help support healthy respiratory function in your dog. One product that has proven to be an excellent solution to
dog sneezing, is called Ox–E–Drops.
There are two types of dog sneezing activities. There is the normal involuntary reaction to foreign bodies in the dog's membrane that cause the
dog––just like humans––to sneeze as a natural reaction to remove the irritant; there is also a natural voluntary habit called "Reverse Sneezing." This
is a normal activity that dogs will use voluntarily to remove a discomfort from their nasal passage or throat. This is akin to the habit of gagging. Pet
owners often see their dog "gag" as if they are about to vomit––this is not always the case––gagging is a normal function (in most cases it's a voluntary
activity) to remove discomfort or irritants from the throat. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast, "Reverse Sneezing" looks like a sucking in of the lips accompanied with a shaking of the head motion (these are not the only symptoms or

signs of illness, owners should take their pets to the veterinarian for further

Essay On Therapeutic Use Of Pets
Today, more than 50% of all U.S. households have a companion animal. Pets are more common in households with children, yet there are more pets
than children in American households.1,2 While current research studies have shown that the mere presence of a pet can have a positive influence on
the physical, social and psychological aspects of health, the use of animals as a therapeutic modality is often met with skepticism.1,2
The first suggested use of animals in a therapeutic setting was in 1914 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, D.C., where dogs were used as
companions for the psychiatric inpatients.1,2

Why Dogs Are Good For Our Health
Introduction
Is it true that canines are helpful in not only the school system, courtrooms, or just at home? Dogs are used as service dogs for people who have a
medical condition that the dog is trained to detect a problem with the impaired person. Another way dogs are used is as therapy dogs for child
victims who are anxious and stressed about testifying in front of the perpetrator. Last but not least dogs are in homes all over the U.S. and are seen
as companions or part of the family. Some researchers believe dogs are overall beneficial to people, while some other researchers may argue that dogs
are actually not good for our health due to disease and dog bites. Service dogs are not being used enough either due to financial reasons since ... Show

When it comes to not having therapy dogs in the courtroom then you will have a child who is a victim of either sexual abuse or abuse not be able
to testify since they will be absolutely terrified on the stand due to high stress and anxiety. The lack of dogs in the home can be hard on your health
since dogs are a source of unconditional love and encourage the owner to be active and content. Researchers and people are concerned about the use
of dogs in schools, courtrooms, and homes and they try to encourage others to support service dogs or drug dogs to help everyone out in the long run.
Dogs & Health Research shows that dogs do in fact reduce blood pressure and heart rate when simply petting them. Even stressed out college students
show significant results from just interacting with dogs and having their stress and anxiety reduced. This is something I actually did myself in college
when I became stressed with finals, so I would go to one of the animal rescue shelters and help out with the dogs and it really did help me maintain my

Benefits Of Obtaining A Lasting Relationship With A Dog
The purpose of this essay is to investigate the benefits of obtaining a lasting relationship with a dog. Through research examined from multiple different
sources the important positive influences a dog can provide include an increase in mental health, social health, and physical health. By acquiring a
relationship with a dog a person can seek out meaningful companionship that they are not obtaining from being in a human relationship (Kurdek, 2009).
One reason a person may turn to a dog for company is due to a recent loss of a loved one (Kurdek, 2009). In a study by Kurdek (2009) it was shown
that dogs could help people in an elderly care facility by providing them with social interactions. The social interactions created helped the elderly with
mental and social health, but the interactions with the dog also improved their physical health. In a study by Martin, Wood, Christian, and Trapp
(2015) it was shown that owning a dog creates the obligation to walk the dog daily. With the increase in physical activity Martin et al. observed an
increase in mental and social health of the subjects results from their study.
Importance of the Family Dog For many of centuries dogs have been an essential part of many people's lives. There are old sayings like dogs are

Argumentative Essay On Dog Park
I would certainly agree that a dog park is a beneficial addition to a community in which many residents own dogs. The particular benefits that such a
public service offers should not, in my opinion, be dismissed. Some may argue, as the author of the second article does, that the cost of such a project
is too great to justify the larger community having to pay for it. Adog park, they may say, is not a necessity, and therefore should not be the taxpayer's
responsibility. However, this argument could easily be applied to other public services which few people oppose. Museums, fairgrounds, and even
similar parks for children, are all often built and operated by the cities that own them at taxpayer expense. I would also point out that

Summary: The Health Benefits Of Dog Censorship
A dog is a man's best friend, or so they say. But a dog can be so much more than just a companion and walking partner. Dogs provide us with comfort
and companionship. It's hard to feel lonely with a furry friend around who insists on sharing your bed or curling up next to you on the couch. Studies
have shown however that owning or even just being around one can have real, measurable health benefits. Beyond the obvious increased exercise you
get from walking your dog, there are other less obvious benefits your fur baby is affording you that you might not even know about.
One study conducted involved dog owners bringing their dogs to work with them. The tests conducted measured cortisol levels in the participants and
measured their stress levels via surveys conducted four times a day. The results found that dog owners who brought their dogs to work with them
consistently scored ten to twenty points lower on stress tests than those who didn't. This is just one more recent study out of many that have been
conducted to quantify the correlation between dog ownership and lowered stress levels. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Persuasive Essay On Dog Training
What makes you love your dogs? Is it because of the way he loves you in return and the eagerness that you feel when he attempts to please? This love
can be more emphasized through dog training as it creates the firm bond between you and your pal.
One well recognized method of dog training is through the use of dog treats. But dog treats are not for positive reinforcement dog training alone. Most
dog owners have used them as snack alternatives. This does not proceed pleasurable experiences but may also aid in maintaining your pal's health.
Like with other pet stuffs, there are considerations that an owner should first evaluate before allowing his pet to dog treats. Health components
concerning with calorie content is on the priority list.

Controlling the quantity of dog treats throughout the day may be of great help. You may also choose to lessen his foods gradually until he reaches
normal weight. In line with this, it is ideal to stick with dog treats with low calories. The subject on obesity may further be resolved through consulting

Richards, E., Ogata, N., & Cheng, C. aim to conduct a longer–term evaluation of the ability of the Dogs, Physical Activity, and Walking (Dogs PAW)
intervention to increase dog walking among dog owners. The research problem being addressed explores maintenance of physical activity (PA)

Under theoretical framework, the literature review explains a good amount on SCT and PA, however, it is lacking in how it relates in particular to dog
walking. It is not until the next paragraph that the authors mention the relationship between pet walking and specifically pet attachment to be relating
to health outcomes that can be measureable such as blood pressure, triglyceride and cholesterol levels. Upon a review of the authors' sources, I have
identified that a majority consisted of primary sources. One of the sources cited, Albert Bandura, provides a good deal of credibility in conjunction
with several medical journals such as the Journal of Physical Activity & Health and Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise. Many of the sources
are extremely relevant to the topic being discussed which in turn provides the reader with pertinent information. One of the other sources which is from
Centers of Disease Control and Prevention backs up this article with data pertaining to body mass index calculation and interpretation and information
that defines over–weight and obesity. A brief review of the sources identifies a good mix that compliments the article as a whole. After careful
consideration, I have decided that this article is somewhat biased. The purpose is to increase dog walking among dog owners. The target audience is
for those who owns dogs; however, individuals with different pets, such as exotic animals like a capybara are excluded. On the

Reasons Why It's Important To Get A Dog
There are numerous reasons why our family should get a dog. The first of which is because dogs can improve your health. Researcher Allen R.
McConnell, who is a professor of psychology at the Miami University with a PHD, has proven that people with pets are at a lower risk for having high
blood pressures and are at a lower risk for heart disease that people that don't have a dog. If anyone in are family had a serious heart disease, they are
also good with that. McConnell said that Heart attack survivors and people with serious abnormal heart problems live longer than people with heart

This will be a fun experience because dogs are proven to never dull or boring the moment. This is seen when a Minnesotan man was wondering
what he should do on a warm, hot, and summer day. He began thinking and figured out there are so many things that you can do with his dog that
day. He could take him to a trip at the park, training him, playing with it, running around with his dog, or just watching him chew on his bone it's
entertaining and fun for both him and his dog. Another way why having a dog could be considered fun is because you can teach your dog to do
certain things. For example if you wanted to teach your dog how to pick up after its toys when their done playing with it, it will become easier
then you picking up after it the whole time. Dogs can be used as guard dogs, if someone tries to break in into your house in the middle of the night
your dog would be alert and ready so they can scare them off so nothing happens this could be considered fun or entreating because you are able to
trust your dog and your dog is able to trust you to, you can start a relationship with it and are able to do more things with it. There are 2 main reasons

Stress Induced Psychological Disorders
A common phrase one may hear regarding dogs is that they are "man's best friend," which is apparent when humans express joy in reaction to a dog's
presence. While dogs may make their owners happy, scientists have recently questioned if dogs may make their owners healthier as well by reducing
stress, encouraging exercise, etc. If dogs do decrease one's stress, then dogs could hypothetically decrease one's chance for developing a stress induced
psychological disorder. Two experiments were conducted in completely different locations and cultures to determine whether dogs do truly benefit their
owner's health. In particular, a self–report research method was conducted in China in which dog owners and non–owners were surveyed specific

However, some issues arise from both studies that future researchers should consider. One issue being that people who are healthy without a pet dog
may be rewarding themselves by owning a pet dog. Thus, this already healthy person could be healthy regardless of owning a pet or not. Another issue
that future researchers could investigate is how close in attachment one has to be with the pet dog to experience any positive effects. The second study
inspected attempted to do this, but was unable to, due to a small sample size of unattached owners. Nevertheless, the two studies examined did
demonstrate high correlations between someone owning a pet dog and having higher health than someone without a pet dog. Thus, due to dogs aiding
in their owners health and providing much happiness, dogs have earned the title of "man's best

Many treats are filled with chemicals and tons of corn or grain and both are bad for hair and skin maintenance and for digestion. Depending on the dog, chemicals and grains could adversely affect your dog's health due to an intolerance or allergy to some ingredients. Skin and Coat What goes in must come out, and with dogs, that means not only through the digestive system. • 5. Why Shelter Dogs Should Not Be Put Down "Why Shelter Dogs Should not be put down, but used to benefit our society". Animal Euthanasia, is a process during which an animal is put to death. According to Humane society "about 2.4 million healthy, adoptable cats and dogs – about one every 13 seconds– are put down in U.S shelters each year." (humane society.) The saying that dogs are a man's best friend is often thought of when thinking of dogs, but what if I tell you the man is the dog 's best friend, or even the only friend, only family. So often we see people buying Dogs because they are so cute! and so warm/fuzzy/cuddly! and 90% of the time those dogs do not stay with this family, either they take too much time, decide to move, not enough space or the saddest one they can no longer afford it, and those dogs find their way to the shelter. The family who put their dogs in shelters think it is the best decision, but in turn, it's really a death sentence. According to Akita Rescue, a dog has "72 hours to find a new family from the moment you drop it off." (Anonymous) after this time the animal gets put down, So why do this to your pet? to any pet? why have them sit in a cell for no reason, other than you not having enough time or no longer wanting to take care of it; that Dog doesn 't have relatives to which he can go to when things go bad, he can 't just go to his sister, mother, father, or grandparents to that dog you are the world, and by putting your dog in the shelter the dog loses not only you but also his world. ... • 10. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Heart Disease Heart disease is common among dogs – almost as common as it is in humans. If you own a dog, and you have some concerns about your dog 's health, it is important to understand what type of heart disease complications your dog may experience, especially in response to infection, illness, diet, and lack of exercise. For many dogs the symptoms and complications of heart disease are similar to what you would expect to see in human symptoms. Heart disease in dog 's can be attributed to congenital complications as well. Typically, when your dog is young, you will want to have your dog evaluated to determine if there are any congenital complications that may pre–dispose your dog to heart complications early in life. When compounded by heart disease development, due to poor diet or other infections, your dog will typically show signs of poor tolerance for exercise, have some swelling around the stomach and may even show signs of weight loss. When evaluated, your dog 's veterinarian is going to listen for the presence of a gallop heart sound which is indicative of swelling in and around the heart. The gallop heart sound will be a sound that is similar to a third heart beat or echo and can typically only be heard with a stethoscope. Heart murmurs in dogs are also quite common and while they can, to some extent, be corrected with surgery, most dogs will live a long time with heart murmur. But, when heart disease is a concern, you will want to address the heart murmur issues as well. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On Sundays, I would dress my Pooh bear in my sister and I's doll clothes and bring it with me to church. One Sunday, an older kid at Sunday School mocked my Winnie the Pooh bear, because Pooh is a boy but I made mine wear a dress. At the young age of 5, I didn't understand why Pooh couldn't be a girl to me, even though the character from the television show was a boy. I left Sunday School that day sad and confused. I always thought of Pooh as a girl, and it crushed me to find out different. I decided I would change my favorite character to a girl character, get a new stuffed animal, and let her wear dresses to church to avoid getting mocked. However,... But by having a dog park it gives your dog a chance to interact with other dogs. So you'll be saving you dog from becoming so mean that you have to take it to an animal shelter. " In one study done in 2013, researchers reported that 65% of owners who left their dogs at shelters blamed it on the dog's bad behavior." Now having a dog park doesn't mean it wont come with its own challenges because it will. You'll have people who won't respect the rules and regulations. From that they'll mess it up for everyone. • 14. Loose Animal Laws Dogs remain one of the friendliest and most beloved animals to humans, but despite their ability to sustain a lovable reputation, dogs do not possess the ability to realize the ramifications of their actions. Homes built in the rural area are built fenceless, giving dogs a literal doorway to run loose because the owner chooses not to enclose their property. Loose dogs must be properly restrained because they cause neighborhood nuisances, contaminate property, and above all violate animal laws. Dogs are not born to live in an enclosed house, they deserve to freely run in open space and relish the taste of freedom. While that fact remains an important part of making a happier dog, the fact of having consideration and respect for others also remains crucial. "The ownership of a dog can also lead to increases in physical activity and facilitate the development of social contacts, which may enhance both physiological and psychological human health in a more indirect manner." Studies in Germany, Australia, and China point to dog ownership as sound public policy. An examination of Chinese women (men were excluded) reported increased exercise, fewer doctor visits, and diminished use of sick days at work when a dog is present in the home. Australian and German dog owners were found to use free governmental health services less than the general populace. Pet owners in those countries made approximately 12 to 15% fewer annual doctor visits than their petless peers. German pet owners spent 32% fewer nights in a hospital. The benefits appeared particularly strong for elderly people, the population group with the worst constitutions and heaviest use of health services. The economic benefit was substantial, approximating savings in health expenditure of $5.59 billion for Germany and $3.86 billion for Australia annually. • 23. Why Do Dog Sneezing Dog Sneezing By Tim Delaney Jan 4, 2013 Are you concerned about your dogs' constant sneezing? If your dog is sneezing, it's not always a reason for concern. Dog sneezing is often a natural reaction to particles, pollen, or some other irritant in the dog's nasal membranes. Sneezing is not always due to allergies or sickness; however, if your dog is suffering from an illness like kennel cough (Bordetella) or some other bronchial infection, then you should consider putting your pet on all natural pet health supplements, which can help support healthy respiratory function in your dog. One product that has proven to be an excellent solution to dog sneezing, is called Ox–E–Drops. There are two types of dog sneezing activities. There is the normal involuntary reaction to foreign bodies in the dog's membrane that cause the dog––just like humans––to sneeze as a natural reaction to remove the irritant; there is also a natural voluntary habit called "Reverse Sneezing." This is a normal activity that dogs will use voluntarily to remove a discomfort from their nasal passage or throat. This is akin to the habit of gagging. Pet owners often see their dog "gag" as if they are about to vomit––this is not always the case––gagging is a normal function (in most cases it's a voluntary activity) to remove discomfort or irritants from the throat. ... • 41. Critique Of A Literature Review Essay Assignment 1: Critique of a Literature Review The article, "Evaluation of the Dogs, Physical Activity, and Walking (Dogs PAW) Intervention", by Richards, E., Ogata, N., & Cheng, C. aim to conduct a longer–term evaluation of the ability of the Dogs, Physical Activity, and Walking (Dogs PAW) intervention to increase dog walking among dog owners. The research problem being addressed explores maintenance of physical activity (PA) behaviour change postintervention and whether changes in behavioral theoretical constructs mediated changes in dog walking behaviour. The literature review is appropriately positioned in the research report and provides support for same. The first few paragraphs of the article discusses the relationship between ... Under theoretical framework, the literature review explains a good amount on SCT and PA, however, it is lacking in how it relates in particular to dog walking. It is not until the next paragraph that the authors mention the relationship between pet walking and specifically pet attachment to be relating to health outcomes that can be measureable such as blood pressure, triglyceride and cholesterol levels. Upon a review of the authors' sources, I have identified that a majority consisted of primary sources. One of the sources cited, Albert Bandura, provides a good deal of credibility in conjunction with several medical journals such as the Journal of Physical Activity & Health and Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise. Many of the sources are extremely relevant to the topic being discussed which in turn provides the reader with pertinent information. One of the other sources which is from Centers of Disease Control and Prevention backs up this article with data pertaining to body mass index calculation and interpretation and information that defines over–weight and obesity. A brief review of the sources identifies a good mix that compliments the article as a whole. After careful consideration, I have decided that this article is somewhat biased. The purpose is to increase dog walking among dog owners. The target audience is for those who owns dogs; however, individuals with different pets, such as exotic animals like a capybara are excluded. This will be a fun experience because dogs are proven to never dull or boring the moment. This is seen when a Minnesotan man was wondering what he should do on a warm, hot, and summer day. He began thinking and figured out there are so many things that you can do with his dog that day. He could take him to a trip at the park, training him, playing with it, running around with his dog, or just watching him chew on his bone it's entertaining and fun for both him and his dog. Another way why having a dog could be considered fun is because you can teach your dog to do certain things. For example if you wanted to teach your dog how to pick up after its toys when their done playing with it, it will become easier then you picking up after it the whole time. Dogs can be used as guard dogs, if someone tries to break in into your house in the middle of the night your dog would be alert and ready so they can scare them off so nothing happens this could be considered fun or entreating because you are able to trust your dog and your dog is able to trust you to, you can start a relationship with it and are able to do more things with it. • 43. Stress Induced Psychological Disorders A common phrase one may hear regarding dogs is that they are "man's best friend," which is apparent when humans express joy in reaction to a dog's presence. While dogs may make their owners happy, scientists have recently questioned if dogs may make their owners healthier as well by reducing stress, encouraging exercise, etc. If dogs do decrease one's stress, then dogs could hypothetically decrease one's chance for developing a stress induced psychological disorder. Two experiments were conducted in completely different locations and cultures to determine whether dogs do truly benefit their owner's health. In particular, a self–report research method was conducted in China in which dog owners and non–owners were surveyed specific questions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, some issues arise from both studies that future researchers should consider. One issue being that people who are healthy without a pet dog may be rewarding themselves by owning a pet dog. Thus, this already healthy person could be healthy regardless of owning a pet or not. Another issue that future researchers could investigate is how close in attachment one has to be with the pet dog to experience any positive effects. The second study inspected attempted to do this, but was unable to, due to a small sample size of unattached owners. Nevertheless, the two studies examined did demonstrate high correlations between someone owning a pet dog and having higher health than someone without a pet dog. Thus, due to dogs aiding in their owners health and providing much happiness, dogs have earned the title of "man's best ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
