1. Equivalent Fractions
Equivalent fractions are fractions that have the same value. They have the same part of the whole.
Multiply the numerator (top number of the fraction) and the denominator (bottom number of the
fraction) by the same number to determine equivalent fractions. Likewise, dividing both numerator and
denominator by the same number also gives an equivalent fraction.
