The biosphere is the largest ecosystem as it encompasses planet Earth and all living things that inhabit it. It includes plants that can produce their own food through photosynthesis using sunlight, water and minerals from the soil, such as algae and plants. Living things in the biosphere also include herbivores that eat plants, carnivores that eat herbivores, and omnivores that eat both plants and other animals.
