4. Noun
A noun is a word for a person, place, or thing. (You might like to think of nouns as naming words.) Everything we can
see or talk about is represented by a word which names it. That "naming word" is called a noun.
Sometimes a noun will be the name for something we can touch (e.g., lion, cake, computer), and sometimes a noun
will be the name for something we cannot touch (e.g., bravery, mile, joy).

A. Countable Nouns
The noun that we can count one by one the number of these nouns. Usually we call these
countable noun with the plural noun, so we should put “s” in the end of the words.

A non-countable noun (or mass noun as it's also known) is a noun without a plural form. Non-
countable nouns refer to things that cannot be counted

• Compound nouns are made up of more than one words such as : dining
room, Bill of rights, and home run
• Simple nouns are made up of one word such as : table, house,
computer, and cake

• Concrete nouns are the name things that exist physically such as : bird,
hair, and toy
• Abstract nouns are the name things that we can not touch and see
physically. Ex : ideas, characteristics, pride, goodness and success
