The document provides instructions for an assignment to create a visual representation of the field of educational technology. Students are asked to create a PowerPoint slide, collage, or poster showing the different tools, jobs, and media used in educational technology. The visual must have instructional design at its core and can be a photo or digital file uploaded to Blackboard. It also includes comments from classmates about a video submission that demonstrated technology and communication in higher education.

Assignment 2. Visual Representation of ET
For your second assignment in ET 500, I would like you to create a visual of some kind that represents your understanding of the field of Educational Technology. There is no wrong way to do this assignment because the visual will reflect your mental image of Ed. Tech.

Consider doing something like a PowerPoint slide or a collage with clip art or pictures cut out of magazines that represent different jobs that people with Ed. Tech. degrees do for a living. You can include visuals that denote instructional designers, library media specialists, and instructional development experts like audio/video producers.

Your visual could show different types of media used in instruction like computers, video cameras and iPods. It might include some historically significant visuals from the early days of the A/V movement—35mm slides, overhead projectors, 16mm film/projectors etc.

The only required element is that you represent instructional design at the heart of the field. If you do a poster or a collage, you can take a digital photo of your project and upload it to Blackboard. You might want to use PowerPoint, but if you do, limit your project to a single slide. You can download images from the web or use clip art.

Remember that this is a VISUAL and you should keep text to a minimum. You will be required to explain your project in detail, so don’t worry if the visual ends up being a bit abstract. Have fun with the project and make it your own. You might need to skim forward beyond chapters1 and 2 in the textbook to get some ideas; or you may want to do a web search on the definition and domains of instructional technology.

You will have until February 7, 2011 at midnight to complete your project. I will post a discussion board where you can ask questions and share ideas with your classmates this weekend.
Vision for technology in Higher Education.mp4
هذا الواجب المقطع
(I did not see an quot;

button so I will explain my collage in this post.)
My collage represents the technology tools I use on a daily basis in my job as a teacher. This is educational technology as I know it and experience it now. I interact on a daily basis with everything from Promethian Boards to overhead projectors, my computer and ipad, and document projectors, computer labs and flash drives. While it is hard for schools to stay up to date with a lot of technological advances, we do are best as teachers to stay on top of things and share ideas with each other.
Vision for technology in Higher Education.mp4
It was refreshing to see a video when looking at everyones presentations. I liked how it flowed and demonstrated technology and communication. Great example!
التعليقات -----------------------------------
It magnificent example of the new way of communication. But I think that we are not using all that technology because we don't have time to assimilate and learn all that information, by the time we learn something, another thing came up and we have to start again. But I think that is what is exiting of this area, everything moving so fast and open doors to new discoveries everyday. ----------- I think that is the reason why kids nowadays have to learn very fast and the information provided to them has to be very short and direct, the learning curve has to be very short and cognitive load minimum in order to learn more in short period of time
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I like your video, it's really represent how the E.Tch can be useful every where and by using very advance technology.
