Cynodon dactylon, commonly known as Bermuda grass, is a warm-season perennial grass that spreads aggressively through rhizomes and stolons. It is native to Africa but has been introduced worldwide in disturbed areas with high temperatures and light levels. Bermuda grass can be invasive due to its extensive underground system but generally does not invade natural areas. It reproduces both vegetatively and sexually. Management requires sustained efforts such as mowing, tilling, burning, or herbicide application along with re-vegetation to prevent re-growth or invasion by other weeds.
