1. What is our obsession
with Takeaways?
Documentary Proposal
2. synopsis
In my documentary, I aim to show why so many people in the UK get
takeaways and deliveries instead of good old fashioned cooking. Is it
because they are just simply lazy? Or are they much better value for
money nowadays? Billions of pounds are spent each year by the UK
population on fast food and I want to know how this craze has become
so normal in our everyday lives.

4. Target Audience
My target audience will be between the ages of 13-40.
!
I believe between this age gap,
a lot of people start to rely on takeaways more
than often rather than cooking.
5. Style of Documentary
The style of documentary I would like to film will be where the
filmmaker is involved, where we see and hear them. I believe this will
be more effective because you can see that the filmmaker is
interacting with the characters and asking them the questions for
the interviews
!
People I will be interviewing will be from 3 different parties.
1. Someone who eats fast food frequently
2.Someone who never eats fast food/takeaway
3. Possibly a doctor or health advisor
6. Relevant Research
Some relevant research which will be useful before I start my
documentary will be to gather facts and statistic’s to do with my subject.
Facts such as: How much we spend yearly on fast food? How much fast
food/takeaway chains profit from this? What affects are there from
eating this type of food on a constant basis?
What kind of people to interview
What is our favourite food to takeaway as a nation?
How much money we can save by not eating fast food/takeaway
7. Why Now?
I think with the New Year just around the corner, people will
be starting to think of New Years Resolution and might
want to be cutting down on how much Fast Food/takeways
they eat in 2015.
So hopefully with my short documentary, I can possibly
encourage people to do so.
