Beyond Boundaries: Leveraging No-Code Solutions for Industry Innovation
Prototypes1and2
1. Problem
Employers, graduates and job seekers need a trusted,
broadly used service, with inbuilt feedback capabilities,
that showcases employers and their opportunities, as
well as showcasing the people interested in those
opportunities.
Approach 1
Identified that a major problem was the lack of knowledge of non industry
specific subjects, along with emotional preparation for both interviewing and
work life
Solution
Key, real world, but non-industry specific subjects, should be trained in high
school and universities.
Project Management, entrepreneurialism, presenting, social skills, etc. Case
studies and lectures.
More businesses should send staff to high schools and universities to instruct
on real situations in businesses (if possible).
Additional thought/revisions:
Students will benefit from access to inspiring people, who may have overcome
challenges similar to the children/students.
This thought is based on feedback from a student on the course, as well as from
Rita Pierson's TED talk 'Every Kid Needs A
Champion" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFnMTHhKdkw
Another revision: Perhaps this is best done online.

WORKED
• Companies will want to
fund with choice,
see value for effort
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
• Moderation
• Company ratings
• Non selling of companies to kids!
• Filtering
2. QUESTIONS
• How can people game
the system?
• Manage contact
between
companies and
kids - through
teachers?
• What is the benefit to
the business?
• Who moderates the
quality of business
communication?
IDEAS
• Feedback loop - value flows in both
directions. Good rating or
engagement levels indicate potential
for direct content
• Local search to find local inspiration
characters
• Filtering based on commercial interest,
maybe schools can ask for funding?
Beneficial offset.
• Ensure the right companies speak to the
right potential future employees

5. Problem (repeat)
Employers, graduates and job seekers need a trusted,
broadly used service, with inbuilt feedback capabilities,
that showcases employers and their opportunities, as
well as showcasing the people interested in those
opportunities.
Approach 2
There was no trusted peer to peer system to match like minded job hunters and
employers hiring.
Inspired by peer to peer platforms Kickstarter and Airbnb, I wanted to create a
video based platform that allowed employers and job hunters to be introduced
each other via video. This system should allow for employers to easily give
feedback on all job hunter videos. Feedback on job hunters was found to be a
key element missing from the job hunting process. The system take inspiration
from other successful feedback systems online.
Solution
We should create and market a trusted grad marketplace between employers
and grads across the UK
online grad fairs, both employers and potential employees use video postings to
offer and apply for jobs.

WORKED
• Video screening
idea
• Niche search/
filtering
NEEDS IMPROVEMENT
• Re-arrange search and upload features
• Filtering needs to be simple, yet powerful
6. QUESTIONS
What about HR
policies?
IDEAS
• Swap search and upload
• Add powerful filtering
• Potential filtering based on job hunter behaviour on and off site
(did they visit the employers website, or watch the relevant
videos)
• Job hunters can apply based
• Assign tasks to job hunters
• Privacy settings for job hunters, so that they are only
approached by sincere employers
• Employers can pitch back to job hunters, or leave video
feedback
• Preferences unlocked for good behaviour in system, especially
leaving good feedback
