Digi pack
1. Digi Pak’s A Digi-pak is an alternative to a CD or DVD cover that provides more information about the music. It is a gatefold that allows the Digi-pak to be folded as a book. BY AJ
2. The colour of the song list and the booklet are a misty brown. This makes the hands look very bold. They also have some darker brown cracks that have an aging quality to the background. Also the shadow of the hand on the song list shows the mystery and connection of the hand and the wall. The background of the box is an outside landscape which gives the group picture a natural lighting and setting. This is portrayed to their audience as being open and broad. The CD itself is black with yellow markings on it. This may be seen as tribal or groups markings as the yellow stands out nearer the middle and a star is made with the markings are more bold. This may suggest a religious representation of the group. The font used to in writing “THE SCRIPT” is very unusual as some of the letters are extended like the “P” and some are shortened like the “S”. This is a trademark font for them as they continuously spell their group name in that exact font. This shows the group has a sense of belonging to the font as they have not change the font they use to spell their name since they became a band. They are an indie rock and soul band that originated from Dublin, Ireland. Their target audience are people from the age of 16-25. They attract a more female audience. The genre is shown as the colour and mood of the Digi Pak is serious and this is what is supposed to be portrayed by an indie group. This group is classed as successful as their music is played in many well known programs like 90210, Eastenders etc. This Digi Pak consists of the song list, a booklet of lyrics and information about the album, the CD and the box that holds it altogether. On the box is a mid shot of the band and a close up of the lead singer. This shows the importance of the lead singer and that the rest of the band also have significance but are not as important. The hands on the song list and booklet look like they connote religion and togetherness. This is as the hands are held together and show a representation of trust and and are a symbolic symbol of praying. Analysis 1: The Script
3. The content of this Digi Pak is a cover, a 3 panel leaflet, an information booklet and 2 CD’s. On the cover and the booklet is a close up of Rhianna’s face. She is not looking at the camera and she put her shoulder in the shot. This may connote promiscuous activity. As it is her bare shoulder and instead of showing any nude part of her body she is showing her naked shoulder as a sense of purity. As the red connotes danger or romance as she has red lips and hair it shows the mystery behind the album. On the three panels is Rhianna in a mid shot. She stretches across the first two panels. Her neck is extended this shows that she is expressing an unusual pose which shows that this would not be an ordinary album. Although she is wearing a white dress as this connotes purity and innocence this clashes with the red danger and promiscuity. Rihanna is a R&B artist that organists from America but was born in Barbados. Her music in this album has more of a pop, reggae and dance vibe. This attracts a wider audience as it have a variety of genre. Her target audience for this album is women between 18-30 years old that still like to have a good time. Her audience changes with each album as she is now passing off a more sexual vibe which isn’t suitable for younger children. The font on the cover and booklet is thin capital letters with large spaces between them. As in the word LOUD has blown onto the page as a sound wave. This shows that the font expresses the sound of the album and the boldness of the music. Although the words are thin they still stand out on the page but not as much as the picture. The word Rihanna on the top of the page is small and in the same font of the title of the album. It may be smaller as she is already a well known artist and her name does not need to stand out. Their was some success with the album as she won a Grammy. Although this song had some critical comments as the song S&M was banned in over 3 countries for being to explicit. This album was meant to be very playful and exciting and this was portrayed by the pictures on the album. As it doesn't not send of a serious vibe but a sassy, flirty album. Analysis 2: Rihanna, LOUD
4. This Digi pak consists of 2 CD’s and an information pamphlet. The picture of Beyonce on the information side is a long shot. She is wearing a black leather jumpsuit. This could connote glamour. As in the other pictures she is is shown in 2 mid shots and a close up of her being slightly seductive. Also the gold background colour connotes high status and wealth. This shows that she is trying to portray a richer glamorous woman to attract a wider range of audience. As she originally targets girls aged 16-25 years old With a social economic group of C2 or D. Although this album attracts a slightly higher social economic group e.g. B. The font on the CD’s is quite old fashion and unique. As it connotes sophistication the songs included will also have a sophisticated mood to it. The success of this album was really well As it resulted in a sold out tour. This album’s genre is pop, soul and R&B. This allows her to reach a wider audience as she originally does R&B. This also allows her to be more original and unique compared to other R&B artists. This Digi pak portrays the style and emotions behind the songs included. This also followed her Dangerously in Love album which was her first debut album so this one had to be very different as show the real her. Analysis 3: Beyonce, B’DAY
