2. 1. First of all, you will need to make sure that
the background is black because the intro is
going to be in space.
3. 2. Then after you have created a new ‘Solid’,
create another one so that you can make some
stars.
4. 3. Then click onto the stars layer and go onto the
‘Effects’ tab then ‘Simulation’ and then choose ‘CC
Particle World’, this effect will allow us to make
some stars
5. 4. After you have added the effect onto the layer, you should get something like this. The next step
would be to make the ‘Birth Rate’ a lot bigger than it is, for the tutorial I made the ‘Birth Rate’
around ’30’
6. 5. Now open up the layer until you see ‘Birth Rate’. Then move halfway through your video and click the little stopwatch
next to ‘Birth Rate’ and make sure that the number is to ‘30’ and then move 1.5 seconds in front of the keyframe and
then change the ‘Birth Rate’ to ‘0’
7. 6. Then change the ‘Longevity’ to a larger number because this will make the particles drop for longer.
8. 7. Then drop down the ‘Physics’ tab and change
the ‘Gravity’ to ‘0’ and then change the ‘Velocity’
to ‘0’ aswell.
9. 8. Then open up the ‘Producer’ tab and change
the ‘Radius X,Y,Z’ to make the particles spread
around the whole place.
10. 9. Then drop down the ‘Particle’ tab and change
the ‘Particle Type’ from ‘Line’ to ‘Faded Sphere’,
this will make the particles looks more like stars.
11. 10. Then change the ‘Birth Color & Death Color’
to White because stars are white and it will make
the most sense.
12. 11. On the same tab, change the ‘Birth Size’ to ‘0.1’ and change the ‘Death Size’ to ‘0.1’
13. 12. Now go onto the timeline and move the layer all the way to the left and extend it on the right. And
after you have made the layer bigger. To the left of the stopwatch there should be two buttons which
you can click on and go to the first keyframe and make the ‘Birth Rate’ a lot higher.
14. 13. Now you can create a new ‘Solid’, it can be any colour
because it will be getting changed into something else.
15. 14. Then make sure that you are on the new layer that you
have created and then go onto the ‘Effect’ tab and go to ‘Video
Copilot’ and ‘Optical Flares’. If you don’t have this, you can go
onto videocopilot.net and get it.
16. 15. Then choose any flare that looks interesting and click on it
and then go onto the ‘Effect’ tab again and then ‘Distort’ and
choose ‘Turbulent Displace’ this will make the flare look like
something in space.
17. 16. Then go onto the ‘Effect Controls’ and bump the ‘Amount’ up to make sure it
doesn’t look like a flare anymore.
18. 17. Then make the ‘Complexity’ bigger because this will make the effect look a lot better.
19. 18. Then right click on the layer where
the flare is on. And then go onto the
‘Blending Mode’ and set the blending
mode to ‘Lighten, this is because it will
remove the black from the background
and then you will be able to see the
stars in the background.
20. 19. Then go onto ‘Layer’, ‘New’ and
select ‘Camera’ this will let you go
through the image which will make it
look like you are going forward in
space.
21. 20. Then click on the camera layer and drop it down so that
you can see all of the settings for it. Then go to the start of
your video and click on the stopwatch next to ‘Position’ and
then go onto the ‘Track Z Camera Tool’ and then click
somewhere further in your timeline and move the camera
forward, this will make it look like you are travelling
forwards through space.
23. 22. Then go and create a new ‘Solid’ and call it whatever you want but I called it a
‘Fractal’ due to the fact that we are going to be making a ‘Fractal’.
24. 23. After you have created the new layer, go onto
‘Effect’ then ‘Noise & Grain’ and then choose
‘Fractal Noise’
25. 24. Now you can change the ‘Contrast’ and ‘Brightness’
of the fractal. And after you have changed the contrast
and brightness, change the ‘Fractal Type’ from ‘Basic’ to
‘Dynamic Progressive’
26. 25. Now you check the ‘Invert’ option and make the
‘Scale’ a lot bigger than it was first of all.
27. 26. Here I picked a random seed until I liked the look of it.
28. 27. Now make sure that the layer is a 3D layer by clicking this
button.
29. 28. Now select the ‘Pen Tool’ and make a rough outline of the
fractal and how you would want it to look like, we don’t want it
nice and perfect because it wouldn’t look like something from
space.
30. 29. After you have made a rough outline of the fractal, drop down
all of the options and change the ‘Mask Feather’ to a higher
number so that you cant see the edges and make it look like
something from space.
31. 30. Now right click on the fractal layer and go to ‘Blending Mode’ and choose ‘Add’ so that it looks
like its supposed to be with the rest of the image.
32. 31. Now go onto the ‘Effect’ tab and go to ‘Color Correction’ and choose the ‘Curves’ effect.
33. 32. Now mess around with the ‘RGB’ colours and see which one you like the most and which one will
blend into the space.
34. 33. Here is the colour that I made with the ‘Curves’ effect.
35. 34. Now make a new layer, called ‘Star’ due to the fact
that we will be making some stars.
36. 35. When you have created the layer, go onto the
‘Effect’ tab and choose ‘Video Copilot’ and ‘Optical
Flares’ and then choose something very simple and
which would look like a star. To get this plugin make
sure you visit Videocopilot.net
37. 36. After you have picked the flare that you want to use, right click on the layer and go onto
‘Blending Mode’ and choose ‘Add’ to make sure that it blends in with the background.
38. 37. Now make the flare whatever colour you want, this will be the colour of the star and
make sure that the layer is made into 3D.
39. 38. Now you can duplicate it a couple
of times and place it around and
change the colours around.
40. 39. Now choose the ‘Horizontal Type Tool’ and put the text in
the middle of the screen so that you can see it in the intro.
41. 40. Now you will be able to change the font to whatever you
want and make the text look like you want for example, you can
add some drop shadow to it if you want. You can also make 3D
text which will make the intro look a lot better.
42. 41. Also make sure that you have made it a 3D layer by clicking this button.
43. 42. Now you can use the ‘Animation Presets’ to
make the text come onto the screen in different
ways but you can make this yourself if you want.
44. 43. I used the ‘Evaporate’ animation on my text, so that when the camera is going towards the text it will
come onto the screen from a blur. If you are going to use this Animation, drop down the layer and select
both of the keyframes and right click and choose ‘Keyframe Assistant’ and pick ‘Time-Reverse Keyframes’
this will make sure that the text appears first.
45. 44. The last step is to add more keyframes within your timeline which will allow you to
move the camera forward. You can make different movements which will make it look
good. But to add more keyframes, you will have to go back onto the ‘Camera’ layer and
keep zooming in to add more keyframes.
