Ghost Effect

  2. 2. Copy Background Layer <ul><li>You don’t want to work in your Background layer, </li></ul><ul><li>use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+J </li></ul><ul><li>In the new layer dialog box name your layer desaturated </li></ul>
  3. 3. Desaturate The Background Copy Layer <ul><li>With my &quot;desaturated&quot; layer selected in the Layers palette </li></ul><ul><li>Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+U </li></ul><ul><li>Your image should be black and white </li></ul>
  4. 4. Copy layer <ul><li>Copy your desaturated layer use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+J </li></ul><ul><li>In the new layer dialog box name your layer motion blur </li></ul>
  5. 5. Motion Blur <ul><li>Go to Filter>Blur>Motion Blur </li></ul><ul><li>Set angle to 0 </li></ul><ul><li>And distance to 95 </li></ul>

Revealing your face <ul><li>Click on your brush tool or push B on your keyboard </li></ul><ul><li>Then press D to make sure your foreground color is black </li></ul><ul><li>At the top of your screen in the Options Bar and set the opacity to 10% </li></ul><ul><li>Your picture should look similar to that > </li></ul>
  9. 9. Apply Diffuse Glow Filter <ul><li>Merge all three layers by using the shortcut Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E </li></ul><ul><li>Go to FILTER>DISTORT>DIFFUSE GLOW </li></ul><ul><li>Change Graininess to 3 , </li></ul><ul><li>Glow Amount to 10 , </li></ul><ul><li>Clear Amount 10 </li></ul>
  10. 10. Add a Solid Fill Color <ul><li>Click on the New Fill Or Adjustment Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers palette </li></ul><ul><li>And pick solid color </li></ul>
  11. 11. Final Step <ul><li>Choose the color you wish to use. I chose green. </li></ul><ul><li>Change the layer blend mode to color </li></ul><ul><li>And the opacity to 11% </li></ul>
  12. 12. And there you have it the ghost effect!
