2. Equipment
Before shooting the film, I made a visit to the Media studies department
and asked to borrow a light reflector, just incase it came useful for
the film. Surprisingly, the light reflector came useful as it was quite
sunny whilst filming. However, all equipment was brought to the
venue and returned in good quality as I made sure to pack a ‘filming
bag’ where all things that were needed for filming from camera to
even the clipboard for the actor, were packed a night before.
With regards to the equipment needed by the actor and actress
themselves – they had brought everything as I made sure to remind
them on various occasions what not to forget.
3. Timing
I had asked to the actor and actress and to arrive to
the venue at 12.30pm and for us all to have
finished by 4.05pm. To plan this timing, I made
sure to be realistic and plan how long each scene
will take to shoot.
At every interval in between each three scenes, I
made sure to keep track of time.
I also made sure to have a one hour break so that all
of us were able to eat and then resume back to
filming
As a result, I was impressed with my time
management skills as we had finished filming at
3.55pm which gave us time to pack away our
things and clean up the venue.
4. Efficiency
Being efficient in everything I do is a must for me. This was
evident on the day of the filming.
A night before I had asked the actress to bring a book or
something she could do whilst she is off set, which was a
good idea because she was using her time efficiently instead
of being bored just waiting for her entrance to the last few
scenes.
Also, whilst I was moving the cameras at their specific angles in
the different rooms, I made sure to keep reminding the two
characters what the next scene will be about so that they
were prepared. In order to make sure their expressions were
precise, I made sure that they did a mini audition before I
actually filmed it so that where there were little twitches that
needed fixing – they could be aware of it.
5. Venue
The venue where the film took place was at my
sister’s house. In order to make sure the
filming was not delayed by any factors, a
stayed over at the venue the night before
filming and set up the venue.
This meant that I removed anything that was
not needed in the filming or anything that
could have caused harm whilst filming- for
this I used my Risk Assessment sheet (on my
Research & Planning Blog) to be aware of
any health and safety risks.
