2. • A young history teacher in a rural school, enjoyed taking her students out of the
classroom for lessons.
• One day, when she was taking her class, a cat came and started playing with the
kids and the kids were amused with this newcomer to the class, and they started
petting the cat.
• However it became a distraction, so the teacher had to chase the cat away.
• When they came out for the class next day, the cat visited the class again, and the
kids started to play with it and finally got him chased away again.

3. • This pattern continued for few more days and then teacher assigned the monitor to
chase the cat away when it comes.
• But this act too became a great distraction because it used to return back to the
class. So she asked the monitor to catch the cat and tie it into a tree before the class
and then release it after the class.
• So this continued, and when the new batch of students came the year after the
tradition was handed over to the new monitor.
• This continued for few more years and the teacher got transferred.

4. • After few decades, the teacher in this story got a promotion as a school inspector
and visited the school to find out that the history teacher of grade 7 is still taking
classes outside the class room as she did and was really amazed and went to see
him teaching.
• When she arrived there, the whole class and the teacher was waiting for its monitor
to arrive to start the class.
• Then a student arrived with a cat and then carefully tied it on to a post near the
teacher and said, sir I could not catch the principal’s cat, so I had to go to the hotel
across the road to catch this one.
•Teacher said, it is O.K. and started the class.

5. • The inspector waited impatiently to see how the lesson is going to be related to
the cat.
• But she could not find any clue and at the end of the period, the monitor just sent
the cat free.
• So she called the teacher and asked why she wanted a cat for that class.

6. • He replied; Oh, I don't know why... but in this school there is a very strange habit in
Grade 7 class.
• They want to have the history lesson taken outside the class room and the students
love it. So I too continue to do so.
• But the strangest thing is always before the class starts, a student runs around and
bring a cat and tie it to that post and students in the class takes turns.
• Last month, a parent donated some money to fix that nice new post to which the cat
was tied.
