2. SUMMARY
 The City of Alamo Heights is seeking to
reduce the quorum requirements for its
ad-hoc committee which is reviewing the
sections of the City’s zoning code as
they relate to commercial and multi-
family districts/developments.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
 City Council adopted a resolution on
March 14, 2016 creating an ad hoc
advisory committee to address multi-
family and commercial structures in the
City.
 The resolution provided for a quorum of
four (4) committee members.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
 The Commercial Code Committee consists
of seven (7) regular members and one (1)
alternate member.
 The committee is nearing completion of
the review process.
 Due to the holiday season and travel
schedules, multiple meetings have been
canceled due to a lack of quorum.

POLICY ANALYSIS
 City staff is requesting to reduce the quorum
requirements from four (4) members to three
(3) members.
 The goal is to minimize the number of
meetings that may be canceled due to a lack
of quorum.
