The opening of a coffee shop
Date: 12 July 18, 2015
Project title: The opening of a coffee shop
This project will take more than 500 labors hours
This project is a one-time effort
Problem:
The situation is to be able to draw in college students to our
coffee shop. We should open a coffee shop near the school
grounds that will be within walking distance. We should
fabricate client’s connection to have normal day-by-day
participation in which we will secure earned income from that
standard participation. We should publicize our café with
various types of deals and distribute flyers on the school
grounds and encompassing zones. For example, flyers can be
handed out near apartment complexes and other residences.
Coffee Shop deals will acquire new clients for our business.
Then again, flyers can be unreasonable yet we should publicize
our café to acquire clients. Likewise, we would like Apple PCs
in an assigned region of our coffeehouse for clients to utilize.
This will be expensive to our business, however we trust that it
will pull in clients who don't have access to their own personal
computers.
Goal:
Our objective is to inject ourselves into the this vibrant industry
in order to get a piece of the overall industry through a quality
administration and client connection. Be that as it may, our
business principle objective is to address understudy's issues
with current innovation, a spot to mingle, a spot to study, and a
spot to get great espresso. Different objectives that we would
like to see inside of opening day and the end of the year is
expansion net revenue income. We would like a benefit of fifty
percent before the year is over. Likewise, our principle concern
is the separation from school grounds to the coffee shop area to
be less than 5 miles. We would like to rent an area near the
grounds and around 2,000 square feet. We don't need too little
of a range or too enormous. Our objective is for our clients to
feel great and comfortable. They should be in a place that is not
stuffy due to little space, but rather snuggled up enough for
mingling.
Objectives that address our main goal:
•Provide a domain for get-together
•Provide a domain for concentrating on and doing homework
Objectives that address self-sustainment:
We hope to animate customers' consciousness of the café with
notice and close separation to school grounds:
•Increase clients from school grounds
•Increase clients living in the same zone
•Increase deals to bring in more income from purchases of
espresso
Target definition:
Execution:
We expect opening a café will expand income after some time
from building clients connection and clients' attention to the
area. We expect increment in earned income from commercial
and flyers. We anticipate that more than 5 years that this
business will pay off all cost of doing business and earned huge
income. We expect our yearly income will level with 3,154,900
and over the 5-year period our aggregate income will break even
with
Cost Estimate:
Building permits and lease, labors and materials initial cost of
- $1,600,999
Advertisement, flyers, sales promotion, and display material
cost
- $555,099
Total cost of coffee shop: 10,155,999
Total project Benefit over 5 years: 15,780,500
Schedule: Opening a coffee shop expected to be in one month.
User Acceptance criteria
· The school ground is going to be incorporated in the existing
ones.
· The coffee shop to be designed for people of up to 10 years
old.
· Support about 10,000 homesteads around the school.
· The project success will be determined using two main
methods which either discrete (Yes/No) method as this will
show that the project was delivered on time, it gained
accreditation and we have opened a new branch or using the
continuous method which is based on measurable scale as we
will be able to know in case of improvement in the customers
satisfaction, increase in revenue and even rebrand our coffee
shop.
High-Level project Assumptions
· The old building we are intending to open the coffee shop will
be renovated by the owner without any arising issues.
· The city county utilities like water; electricity etc. is currently
serving the place we intend to open the coffee shop.
· The land we are intending to open the coffee shop is free of
claims and liens.
· The budget of the coffee shop project is $3,154,900 per annum
High-Level project constraints
Limiting factors affecting the project
· Claim that our coffee is better than the one in the other
competing shops.
· Having daily customers and how to maintain them in our
coffee shop.
· Selection of the employees as they will not only make the
coffee but also determine the culture of our coffee shop.
· Marketing our coffee shop as this will attract more customers
to our shop not only to serve the one around as it will make
them know the coffee shop and bring them to the coffee itself.
Rules and regulation of the coffee shop
· The customer’s needs must be the top priority
· The employees must ware decently
· Each customer should be given a loyalty card before they
leave the shop welcoming them again free of charge.
· The coffee price must be placed according to the perceived
customer value not the accounting make ups.
· The coffee shop will allow counter service as the customer
should order and pay upfront and given a number on a stand
with their drinks and give them a buzzer that calls them up
when their order is ready.
· The customers must be served politely
· The customer must be treated with smile and respect
· The employee should pardon him/herself if the order from the
customer is not clear.
· The shop will allow takeaways, free Wi-Fi, table services and
lots of in-house entertainment.
Exclusions and boundaries
· The coffee will only be served within the area specified.
· The door-to-door delivery will not be more than 2kms.
· In an event that the door to door delivery service goes beyond
2km then the customer will pay for the extra transportation cost.
· The customer will be given an opportunity to air their views
concerning the services offered using suggestion box which will
be manned by the top management.
· All the stakeholders to be notified one month in advance on
the need to introduce any new product so that their views are
also taken into consideration.
· The customer will not be entitled to get a refund or damages in
cases of non-delivery due to wrong addresses or natural
calamities that are beyond the company’s reasonable ability to
deliver.
· The shop will meet minutes summarizing agreements and the
understandings reached by the stakeholders.
· There will quarterly meetings involving the management and
stakeholders to review how the coffee shop is working
Major risks
· Disregarding of the project by the committee
· Conflict between the project stakeholders
· Key stakeholder leaving the project
· Number of the customers who will use the project
· Specified areas of the product are more consuming than
others.
· Customer insisting on new requirements
· Lack of personnel with the critical skills
· Contractor not delivering components when promised.
· Technical decisions from the customer than lengthen the
schedule.
· Poor selection of the technology which does not match with
Technical requirements
· Coffee brewers to make and store coffee for customers to buy
· Special grinder to grind beans
· Comfortable indoor and outdoor sitting furniture.
· Water softeners
· Cold drink fridges
