2. The Importance of Teaching
PDHPE in Primary Education:
S The teaching of PDHPE in primary education is very
important, as it is a part of building and constructing
healthy individuals who can make positive and
constructive health and life choices in order to have a
positive and healthy future. It is also an important factor
in advocating the holistic child.
S PDHPE is an important tool, as it allows children to not
only develop a strong skill set, but obtain the knowledge
and values that allow them use these skills as a part of
their lives.

3. The Teaching of Personal
Health & Development.
S By teaching children about their own individual health and
how they develop, children can gain important
information on the following:
S Safety (i.e. road safety)
S Drug education
S Nutritional education
S Health choices
S Growth and Development

4. The Teaching of ‘PE’ in
Primary Education:
S The teaching of ‘PE’ in primary education is important, as
it promotes not just physical activity, but healthy lifestyle
choices. By teaching ‘PE’, we as teachings help our
students to develop the knowledge to make healthy
decisions, especially regarding physical education and
participation. As well as this ‘PE’ is a fun aspect of
education and allows students to bond, and work
together, which is an important part of building up their
social confidence and network.
