Digital literacy
An idea of what it is.
Digital Literacy is the awareness of the digital
tools available and their applicability. Being Digital
Literate is to be able of dealing with all the techno
world an merge it to the traditional one, being also
able of sharing, learning and teaching taking profit of
alltheresources.
Digital Literacy in our Society
Students and teachers in different levels of
the use and understanding the role of technology.
Students and teachers learning. Collaborative
learning also implies the teacher being able of
interfering. Students helping teachers and becoming
part of theirown process of learning.
Competences/Skills
Students:interested in taking part of
the process
Teachers:
up-to-dateaware of his/her
responsibility in the process of
learning
opened to learn and discuss
“A competency is more than just knowledge or skills. It
involves the ability to meet complex demands, by drawing on and
mobilizing psychosocial resources (including skills and
attitudes)in a particular context. For example, the ability to
communicate effectively is a competence that may draw on an
individual’s knowledgeof language,practical IT skills and attitudes
towardsthose with whom he or she is communicating.” (OECD,
2003, p. 4)
There´s no use on having all the apparatus. One must be
prepared to usealltheresources.
It´s the new way of teaching and learning.
Digital literacy is a no way back! The ideal
proportion of digital technology and
traditional one hasn´t been found yet.

  • 3. Digital Literacy is the awareness of the digital tools available and their applicability. Being Digital Literate is to be able of dealing with all the techno world an merge it to the traditional one, being also able of sharing, learning and teaching taking profit of alltheresources.
  • 4. Digital Literacy in our Society
  • 5. Students and teachers in different levels of the use and understanding the role of technology. Students and teachers learning. Collaborative learning also implies the teacher being able of interfering. Students helping teachers and becoming part of theirown process of learning.
  • 7. Students:interested in taking part of the process
  • 8. Teachers: up-to-dateaware of his/her responsibility in the process of learning opened to learn and discuss

  • 10. “A competency is more than just knowledge or skills. It involves the ability to meet complex demands, by drawing on and mobilizing psychosocial resources (including skills and attitudes)in a particular context. For example, the ability to communicate effectively is a competence that may draw on an individual’s knowledgeof language,practical IT skills and attitudes towardsthose with whom he or she is communicating.” (OECD, 2003, p. 4)

  • 13. It´s the new way of teaching and learning. Digital literacy is a no way back! The ideal proportion of digital technology and traditional one hasn´t been found yet.
