U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) visited the Blue Grass project and met with Kentucky Chemical Demilitarization Citizens’ Advisory Commission
and Chemical Destruction Community Advisory Board members, the Eastern Kentucky University and Berea College presidents and other project
stakeholders as part of his visit.

Control and Support Building (CSB) Facility Control System turned
over to systemization personnel and energized
Systemization personnel begin partial occupancy of CSB
Utility Building internal systems turned over to systemization
personnel and energized
Moving Forward
Carpenters install a vapor lock barrier for the airlock between
the Control and Support Building and the Munitions
Demilitarization Building.
Sheet metal workers prepare the cascading ventilation
system ducts on top of the Munitions Demilitarization
Building (MDB) for connection to the (MDB) filter banks.

installed and wiring activities begin.

A utility pipe rack now spans from the Utility Building
to the Munitions Demilitarization Building.
Utility Building boiler room piping and equipment
installations continue.
The final Utility Power Center recently arrived and was
safely installed.
