The advantages include:
Significant damping of in-rush current
Improvement in voltage quality during the switching process
Extended life of capacitors
High operational reliability if power factor correction system
Extension of the maintenance periods of the power factor correction system
Suitable for choked and unchoked power factor correction systems due to leading
transition contacts opening during permanent operation
Features that matter:
Patented design with significant dampening of inrush current
Long-life contactors tested by FRAKO up to 100,000 switching operators
Suitable for choked and unchoked power factor correction systems
Very high operational reliability
Capacitor contactors for choked power factor correction system:
When choked power factor correction systems are switched, the peak-switching current is
essentially lower because of the high inductivity of the harmonic filter reactor as with
unchoked power factor correction systems.
By using special wear resistant contact material for these applications it is possible it is possible
to use capacitor contactors without series resistors.
The advantages include:
Safe switching (On & Off) of choked capacitor steps
Improved voltage quality through chatter proofed switching operations
Extended life of the contactor ( > 100,000 switching operations)
High operational reliability of the power factor correction system
3. Detuned Harmonic Filters
Technical Data
System Voltage : 400....950V
Resonant Frequency : 141 Hz and
189Hz
Rated Kvar : 25....5000 Kvar
Type : Auto / fixed
Detuned filter are designed to use for power factor correction in systems where
harmonics are generated by nonlinear loads, each step of detuned filters consists of
a capacitor and a series reactor connected in series. These two from a series
resonant circuit tuned at a frequency below the lowest harmonics frequency present
in the system normally the 5th (250Hz). Detuned filter also removes lower order
harmonics from the system to some extent. This will helps to offset the Resonance
effect for longer trouble free operation.
Automatic
Harmonic Filter
Panel
Technical Data
System Voltage: 440...........525
V
Rated KVAR: 50..... 6000 KVAR
Type: Auto
Automatically controlled power factor regulation, low installation cost.
Harmonic filters are in detuned mode (133Hz, 189Hz) and effectively reduce at
5th, 7th harmonics intern I²R and eddy current losses in the systems. We can
achieve any target power factor with this scheme. Results in potential savings in
electrical bill with the convincing payback period < 12 months.
