3. Main objective
This unit will provide kindergartners with a comprehensive exposure to their five senses and
how these senses help them learn about their world. Through the use of songs, books, and
hands-on activities, my students will recognize what the five senses are and be able to identify
the body parts associated with the senses with 100% accuracy at the end of the week.
4. Day by day breakdown
oMonday- sight, watch youtube video , optical illusions, color blindness test
oTuesday- hearing, play with musical instruments, telephone game
oWednesday- touch, what's in the bag
oThursday-smell, jars of different scents(garlic, vanilla, vinegar, soap)
oFriday-taste, try a variety of foods and hold up cards saying sweet, sour, or salty. After taste
game we will go for a walk and test our senses.
o Foods: chocolate chips, lemons, potato chips, etc..
