2. Healthy Relationships
• Healthy relationships are a key to a happy and healthy life.
• Honesty, trust, and respect are among the most important aspects of a
good relationship.
• Both people need to work on a relationship.
• Relationships are like bank accounts, you have to deposit and withdraw
support.
• Good communication is also needed in order to help out each other and
to improve the relationship.
• Both sides need to be able to change and support each other.
3. Unhealthy Relationships
• Unhealthy relationships can be
devastating to some people.
• Often these relationships suffer from a
lack of communication, respect, or
honesty.
• Verbal, emotional, or physical abuse is
common behaviour for these
relationships.
• It is very unhealthy to be in these
relationships yet people still remain in
them.
• Respect is the most important trait in a
relationship of any kind.
• Teens may grow up in a household of
abusive relationships and think it is
normal but it is not.
4. Bullying
• In Canada thousands of teenagers are
bullied every day.
• A bully may not even realize that they
are bullying someone.
• In 2010, 1 in 3 teens reported being
cyberbullied in the past few months.
• Teens who are bullied are twice as
likely to attempt suicide than those who
are not.
• Many bullies dismiss it as “just joking”
even though they purposely hurt other
feelings.
• Those who bully put others down to try
and make themselves seem more cool
or to make themselves feel better.
5. Preventing Bullying
• The prevention of bullying is best achieved if everyone is made aware
of the issues.
• Most instances of bullying happen with bystanders present.
• These bystanders need to support the victim and not ignore the
situation.
• Whenever someone ignores bullying, bystanders are just as
responsible for the situation as the bully.
• If everyone who sees bullying prevents and reports it, bullying would
become much less popular.
