Easypaisa is Pakistan’s first mobile
banking platform launched in 2009.
Easypaisa is the pioneer in Pakistani
mobile wallet industry. It is a mobile
payments and branchless banking
services provider in Pakistan and a
part of Telenor Group.
4. HISTORY:
It was founded in 2009 by Telenor Pakistan in
partnership with Tameer Bank, which was later
renamed to Telenor Microfinance Bank. Easypaisa
also provides digital payment services through QR
code in partnership with MasterPass and is the only
GSMA mobile money certified service in Pakistan.
Easypaisa started its operations as a money transfer
service through Unstructured Supplementary
Service Data (USSD) commands channel.

8. Percentage charged
• Easypaisa loan service is only available to registered
consumers, which means anyone over the age of 18 can
apply for a loan.
• EasyPaisa customers can get a minimum loan of Rs. 1,050
and a maximum of Rs. 10,000
This loan service will be charged as per the following details
• For 7 days: 10%-25%
• For 14 days: 12%-35%
If the loan will be returned after the due date extra 2.5% will
also be charged by the bank.

users
• by utilizing the millions of low-income individuals already
owning mobile phones to build a platform that would connect
the underprivileged with financial service providers and enable
both parties to transact at a cost that would be orders of
magnitude less expensive than the alternative (which is
essentially to build and staff bank branches and ATMs all over
the place).
• it was discovered that 45% of Easypaisa users do not have
access to bank accounts, indicating that Easypaisa has already
made significant inroads into the underprivileged and
unbanked masses.
• 88 percent of users said the programme was simple to use, and
75% of those polled said they felt the service had a good
impact on their life.
