Onpage SEO – What Is The Anatomy Of A Perfectly Optimized Webpage?
When it comes to on-page optimization, you must have heard a lot about keywords and meta-tags
throughout your lifetime. It can be said without any doubt that on page optimization is the foundation of
your website and it is on this that your website is constructed for better and improved search engine
ranking. Both off page SEO and on page SEO are interdependent on each other and if you don’t have
either of them, there are high chances that your website will not rank high up in the search engine rakings.
Here are some on page SEO checklist that you may consider –
1. Title: Title is the most important part of the on page SEO element and it usually targets
keywords which are present in the content and helps in returning to the relevant pages on search
engines. You should check whether or not you have the most important keyword in the title of
your website? Is it placed in the beginning of the title tag? Is the title content unique?
2. Description: The description tag is very vital for the visitors of the site as they are nothing but
the gist of the webpage which people see on the search results. You should check whether your
meta-description tag contains some of the targeted keywords. Is your meta-description within 150
characters? Are the description content unique for every web page?
3. Heading: Unlike the description and title, the heading tag is visible on the page to the visitors. It
is also vital from the point of view of search engine bots obtain the information about the
webpage from the heading tag, especially H1 tag. Do you have a H1 tag? Do you have targeted
keywords in the h1 tag and is this placed towards the beginning of the tag? Is this content of the
heading tag unique?
4. URL: Do you have short and clean URLs and do you have the keywords in the URL placed at the
beginning? Did you use hyphens in the URLs? These are some checks that you have to perform
in order to make sure that the on page SEO is perfect for your website.
So, with regards to on page optimization, make sure you follow the above mentioned SEO tip so that you
can ensure obtaining the highest search engine ranking for your website.
