3. INTRODUCTION
Globalization really took off in 1980’s due to the development of
transport and communication technologies
It makes the world more accessible to everyone
From the beginning up to know, it has brought positive changes all
over the world in every sectors (my argument of presenting
globalization)

4. WHAT IS GLOBALIZATION?
Process for international influence in businesses or other
organizations
Process of global and rapid economic, political, cultural and
institutional integration among countries
It has made the world become a small village; the borders have been
broken down between (developed and developing) countries

6. TYPES OF GLOBALIZATION
Economic: interconnection between economies through trade and the
exchange of resources because no national economy really operates in
isolation
Social: sharing of ideas and information between and through
different countries like internet and social media (popular films, books
and TV series)
Political: political co-operation that exists between different countries
(World Trade Organization (WTO), United Nations (UN), and more regional organizations such as the
EU/ECOWAS have helped to increase the degree of political globalization.)

To work is to be engaged in physical or mental activity in order to
achieve a result; do work
Work is any activity involving mental or physical effort done in order
to achieve a purpose or result
According to UNEVOC (UNESCO institute), work can be defined
as the basic needs for center of life, centered or focused for the
survival from the sociological perspective

Work opportunities for women and men
Promote rights at work
Encourage decent work opportunities,
Enhance social protection and
Reinforce dialogue on work-related issues

9. GLOBALIZATION IN NEPAL
Nepal experienced few success stories as well as cases of failure and
frustrated expectations
Nepal adopted the policy of globalization after the restoration of
multiparty democracy in 1990s (globalization in South Asian region)
Nepal accession to the WTO in 2004 accelerated the process of
globalization

GLOBALIZATION
Global trends and challenges in the world of work
Factory conditions and labour standards are inscreasing
Globalization of economy, rapid technological transformations in
production, labour markets, and quality of work
Generation of major developments in the way that work and
production are organized and managed

Declining labour force participation ratios
A shift from employment in industry to employment in services
More precarious work
Continuing or increasing youth unemployment

The process of globalization has involved all the countries around the
world
Globalization has created a new opportunities for developing
countries
It has influenced work, work conditions and work security all over the
world
