To whom it may concern:
I would highly recommend Zhen Zhou for a position within your organization. Ms.
Zhou was employed by Qualitrol for her first Co-op requirement from August 2013 to
December 2013.
Ms. Zhou joined us with no formal work experience as an industrial / process
engineer and I would say she adapted to the role and duties of the job better then
most seasoned professionals. She was able to learn and adapt to many new
scenarios with ease. For example, I gave her the task of modifying a manufacturing
cell layout in AutoCAD 2004 in which I spent only 1 hour of training with her. She
was then able able to work alone on the project and produce the desired output in a
timely fashion. Another way Zhen impressed me was I gave her a MS Access
Database to develop and again she was able to complete the task with minimal
training. After 1 to 2 weeks, she produced a database that I would consider to be
comparable in quality of work to an intermediate level developer.
Ms. Zhou has also excelled in “hands on” work in her time at Qualitrol. Zhen was
willing and able to go to the factory floor and build benches from raw materials. She
also was very effective at communicating with toolmakers and producing assembly
fixtures for our target cell. She was able to realize the value of going to the factory
floor (Gemba) to get answers to the projects she was working on.
Zhen has a delightful personality and won the respect of all the factory floor
associates through respect for others and attentiveness to there needs. She
impressed the professional staff with intelligence and strong work ethic and she
would be a most valued asset to any company she decides to join.
