To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter to give my highest possible recommendation for Aubrey Bailey. I know
Aubrey through his work with our Regional Sterilization Department at C.R. Bard. Aubrey was
hired as a temporary Process Engineer to support a three year, $3 million control system upgrade
project. At our first meeting I described the general outline of the project and what his roles and
responsibilities would be within the scope of the project. He asked excellent questions and
appeared very intelligent with regards to his technical aptitude and his process oriented mindset.
He then began researching more on the current control system we have in place as well as
learning as much as possible on the system we would be upgrading to. He did this independently
-he was not asked to do this by anyone. I learned that he had done this at our second meeting
and I was quite impressed at his motivation and independence. Aubrey obtained immediate
respect of the department heads and his peers for his self motivation and his capacity to learn and
internalize new information.
Over the course of the project thus far, Aubrey has demonstrated the ability to work
independently with great creativity and enthusiasm. He has also put in many long hours, working
equally as hard as the other Process Engineers who are full time employees of Bard. Aubrey was
teamed with other employees and third party contractors to work on the details of the project and
has proven to be a strong leader both in an assigned leadership role and by leading from a
supporting role when applicable. He is usually the first of the engineers in the office each
morning and when possible, is the last to leave in the evening.
The other employees working with Aubrey have commented favorably about working with him
since he has been with Bard. They have said that Aubrey has integrated well into the
organization, pulling his own weight on the project and at times the weight of others when
necessary, and has the ability to compromise with other team members. One incident illustrates
this point. There is a senior manager indirectly involved in the project who is a person that
sometimes focuses on details that have no relevance to the project but due to this manager's role,
we are required to comply with certain constraints that have no value added to the scope of the
project. Aubrey had to interact with this manager on a regular basis in order to get certain action
items of the project approved in order to continue moving forward. Aubrey was able to find a
way to communicate with this manager and build a rapport based on his experience to aid the
manager in understanding why these constraints were not value added and have them removed.
At the end of the last project meeting, the manager noted what a pleasure it is to work with
Aubrey.

I have been especially taken by Aubrey's creative mind and independent work ethic. He continues
to read up on aspects of the control systems and components independently and generate interesting
approaches to improving the project plan and activity schedule. We meet every week as a team,
and at several meetings he has presented information that was new to everyone in the group and
forced us to reconsider options that were available to us in order to aidin moving the project
forward. Aubrey has also shown remarkable problem solving abilities throughout this project.
In summary, Aubrey Bailey is clearly one of the best Process Engineers I have worked with in
my 18 year career. Though I hope he stays here, I know that Aubrey would be an outstanding
asset to anyone's organization and will continue to not only grow himself professionally but also
will help professionally grow any organization he is a part of to include those employees he
works directly with. I give him my highest recommendation for the position he has applied for
with your organization.
