Final Semester Outline
1. FALL 2015 SEMESTER OUTLINE
(subject to change)
*Bi-monthly, I will hold a FIG dinner at a restaurant of their choice on Guadalupe Street
(everyone pays for themselves unless a student wants to treat the group).
**During the semester, I will have two community service events that I will plan that the
students can participate in (Gateway UGS class requires a minimum of two service events).
***Weekly, students will list goals to accomplish to become goal-oriented to achieve personal &
professional success.

Developmental: Present selected success/
career videos and discuss goals
Realize true meaning of college and set them
up to achieve their definition of success.
September 22
Academic: Undergraduate Research
Information Session
Allow students to recognize the opportunity of
undergraduate research.
September 29
Social: Group Scavenger Hunt of University
Resources; Prize: Tiff’s Treats/Group choice
Students acquainted with resources around
campus and allow them to collaborate.
October 6
Academic: Bridging Disciplines Information
Session
Learn about the various disciples that students
may merge to match their interests.
October 13 Developmental: Work Day on Goals Project
Students get a day to develop/complete their
project.
October 20
Academic: Advising on scheduling;
presentation on money management
Help students prepare for the spring; and give
some tips on saving money.
October 27 Developmental: Integrated Career Panel
Have a few graduate students from different
majors answer career questions for first years.
November 3
Academic: Keys to scheduling Spring
Semester; Presentation by business school
advisor on internal transferring
Students will acknowledge short-/long-term
goals and link courses to them for the Spring.
November 10
Academic: Bring in Dr. Moore, any of the FIG
professors, OR ANYONE
Build personal connection with the professor
and incline students to attend office hours.
November 17 Developmental: Meditation & Relaxation
A way to destress and just calm our bodies
and mind from our day-to-day hectic lives.
November 24 Thanksgiving Break We can all use a break. Enjoy!
December 1 STUDY DAY!!!
An hour to spend studying, relaxing, or asking
questions.
