visual artists working with sculpture, stage-set and
performance.
Franz Erhard Walther: Call to Action
Franz Erhard Walther’s first major solo exhibition
in Canada brings together a body of work made
between the 1950s and the present, and includes
sculptures, drawings and videos. At the core of
the exhibition is an interest in Walther’s radical
consideration of the relationship between the
object, the space and the human body.
Ulla von Brandenburg: It Has a
Golden Red Sun and an Elderly Green
Moon
Ulla von Brandenburg’s first solo exhibitions in
Canada explores states of unconsciousness and
the boundaries between past and present, reality
and illusion, and the sacred and the secular.
It features a new film shot in the Théâtre des
Amandiers, France, and a site-specific installation.
Emily Mast: The Cage is a Stage
This new multi-compositional project by Emily
Mast is presented by The Power Plant and
Blackwood Gallery. Comprised of two exhibitions,
a billboard and a short performance at the
Blackwood Gallery, as well as an evening-length
performance at Harbourfront Centre Theatre,
the project examines deep-seated human
compulsions.
