PAGA Network Test Set miniaturised inside a 300 x 200 x 120mm casing. This unit has been designed in response to the ongoing problems of commissioning a PAGA system on site.
2. The Requirement …..
• The site PAGA [Public Address and
General Alarm] is one of the
biggest systems within the entire
Telecom package.
• The system is required to provide
acoustic coverage to all potential
listening positions on the site.
• Field cabling and associated field
devices is a major installation
overhead.
3. The Requirement …..
• By far the greatest overhead in
setting the PAGA system to work is
the commissioning of the field
loudspeaker networks which
account for 90% of the overall
installation.
• Consequently the majority of site
time is consumed in fault finding
on loudspeaker installation wiring.
• This activity can only be executed
upon completion of the entire
PAGA installation works.
4. The Requirement …..
• Only when the loudspeaker
networks and associated central
equipment racks are
commissioned satisfactorily can
the acoustic performance of the
PAGA system be verified.
• As a consequence verification and
validation of the acoustic design is
only usually possible at an
advance stage in the project hand
over plan.
5. The Requirement …..
• Changes to loudspeaker
assignment as a result of
installation failures or acoustic
design anomalies are only totally
evident during the critical phase of
hand over.
6. The Requirement …..
• Re work is exceedingly costly
at this stage of the schedule
and also exposes the installer
to possible penalties for
potential delays to the project
execution.
9. The ZTL350 Test Set
• A complete PAGA system in a small
brief case.
• Light weight – only 7Kg.
• Tiny size – 300 x 200 x 120mm.
• Robust – designed to survive
transportation world wide.
• Rugged – designed to operate in wide
range of service conditions – eg high
ambient temperatures +50C
10. ZTL350 Benefits
• Enables checking of the loudspeaker
termination cable connectivity as
installation proceeds thereby eliminating
exceedingly costly re work.
• Enables checking of the acoustic
performance of the system at an early
stage of the project plan enabling
modifications to be actioned at minimal
cost / schedule impact.
11.
12. ZTL350 Simple use
• The installer connects the
speaker circuit cable pair
to the Ziztel portable
tester via a quick
termination block.
• The installer can now
switch on an alarm tone
or make a speech
announcement and verify
operation of all the
loudspeakers connected
on the circuit under test.
13. ZTL350 Benefits
• The installer can check the
acoustic coverage of the system
by switching on a selected
alarm tone signal and then
measuring broadcast Sound
Pressure Level [SPL] with a
sound pressure level meter.
• Speech intelligibility can also be
checked by making live speech
broadcasts and ensuring that
speech is both audible, clear
and intelligible.
14. ZTL350 Benefits
• All loudspeaker networks can be
checked electrically / acoustically and
signed off in advance of central PAGA
rack commissioning.
• Specialist PAGA vendor site attendance
is limited only to commissioning the
rack and ancillaries, and as such can be
carefully monitored to contain day work
costs.
15. ZTL350 Benefits
• Massive reduction in specialist day work
costs.
• No delays at hand over due to possible
acoustic coverage issues.
• No project delays due to installation
errors.
• Massive reduction in remedial / re work
labour costs.
• Reduced exposure to project liquidated
damages.
16. ZTL350 Test Set Amplifier
• Incorporates a powerful no
compromise integral PAGA
amplifier module type 350A.
• 350 Watts output capability.
• Industry standard 100 Volt
line output.
• Can be used to verify PAGA
system networks supplied by
other PAGA vendors.
17. ZTL350 Test Set Amplifier
• Unconditionally stable,
electronically protected
against abnormal
loudspeaker network
conditions including Open /
Short circuit, overloaded
lines, earth faults.
• Over Temperature protected.
18. ZTL350 Test Set Amplifier
• Test set 350A amplifier
under going elevated
factory heat testing.
19. ZTL350 Test Set Alarm tones
• Integral alarm tone
generator sub system
delivers a range of alarm
cadences / frequencies
according to International or
project specific standards.
• Alarm tone set can be
altered by simple file down
load.
20. ZTL350 Test Set Alarm tones
• Four alarm tones embedded,
standard Alarm tone sets
include :-
• SOLAS IMO compliant
• NORSOK compliant
• PFEER compliant
21. ZTL350 Test Set Speech
broadcasts
• Live voice broadcast
capability from an
integral microphone
input.
• Fist microphone or
optional goose neck
microphone input.
22. ZTL350 Test Set Speech
broadcasts

microphone input.
23. ZTL350 Test Set
Auxiliary input broadcasts
• Auxiliary input XLR
connector fitted
allowing external
program to be
broadcast by the
system.
24. ZTL350 Test Set
• Low level test ‘Tick Tone’ enables
convenient walk down check of entire site
installation without full volume alarm tone
broadcasts.
25. ZTL350 Test Set

earth faults, short circuit and open
circuit lines.
• B] Acoustic performance / coverage
for both audibility and intelligibility.
• C] Correct loudspeaker tap
assignment.
34. ZTL350 Test Set
• The investment in a Ziztel ZTL350
test set will repay it self many
hundreds of times over.
• The only question is:-
How did we manage to
commission a PAGA system
before we had a ZTL350 test
set!
