Tanjung Lesung is nestled in the West Coast area of Java, in the Banten Province. Beaches on this coast is known to be some of
the best as they offer good surf, calm swimming spots, considerably healthy reefs, and white inviting sand.
Slightly bulging from the mainland of Java into the Sunda Straits is Tanjung Lesung, a developing integrated beach resort for
recreation and hotels overlooking Mt. Anak Krakatau, all that is left of the once mighty Krakatau volcano. Located on Java’s most
western coast in the district of Pandeglang in the province of Banten, the Tanjung Lesung resembles the lesung, which in the
local Sundanese language means the receptacle for rice pounding.
This huge 1,500 hectares area of Tanjung Lesung has been developed by the Banten West Java Tourism Development
Corporation (BWJ) since 1996, patterned after the famed Nusa Dua Resort in Bali. The resort is envisaged to contain top range
hotels and restaurants, a convention hall, a number of golf courses, marina and theme park.
Today, Tanjung Lesung offers a perfect place to lay back and immerse oneself in the beauty of nature found along the vast
stretch of soft white sandy beaches, clear and calm blue waters, and fresh tropical breezes. The 15km shoreline is the perfect
place for various beach activities such as beach volley, beach football, or just lie down under the indulging sunshine.
Tanjung Lesung can also act as the staging point for those who wish to venture to the Krakatau volcanic island, or visit the Ujung
Kulon National Park. Although this Park is the last habitat of the endangered one-horned Java rhinos it is almost impossible to
see them since they are very shy animals. Instead, enjoy watching wild deer, boars and wild buffaloes roam free in the park.
The geographic position of Cape Tanjung Lesung does not directly face the Indian Ocean, and therefore its waters are relatively
calm and are perfect for swimming and other water activities such as Jet skiing, or boating. The magnificent scenery of Tanjung
Lesung also lies beneath the surface. Beautiful coral reefs, decorated with colorful fish and seafloor dwellers make this a perfect

From the capital city of Jakarta, the cape of
Tanjung Lesung is approximately 160 Kilometers
away and can be reached by rented car or public
bus in about 3 to 4 hours’ drive. The roads are in
relatively good condition with beautiful
sceneries at some spots.
From Jakarta, you can take the Jakarta-Merak
Toll Road, and take the exit of East Serang. After
passing Serang, the road will take you to the
town of Pandeglang, Labuan, and eventually
arrive at Tanjung Lesung. Alternatively you can
take the Cilegon exit, then take the road xouth
from the north coast of Banten, passing Anyer
and Carita Beach in the direction of Labuan.
If you prefer public transport, from Jakarta you
can take the bus in to the Labuan Bus Station,
then continue your journey by Ojek or
Motorbike Taxis to Tanjung Lesung.

There’s plenty to do in Tanjung Lesung, from beach games, water activities,
and even underwater adventure. Its soft white sand makes it a perfect place
to play football, beach volley, or any other sports you may want to do. Its
clear and calm blue waters will inevitably tempt you to jump in and swim, or
play Jet Ski or other water rides. Below the surface, the coral reefs of
Tanjung Lesung with their colorful fish call snorkelers and divers. Off the
coast of the cape, visitors can enjoy the sensation of deep sea fishing.
While Mount Anak Krakatau is lurking on the horizon, why don’t you just
complete the adventure by actually stepping on the remains of one of the
most legendary volcanoes in the world. Or take a longer tour to Ujung Kulon
and the island of Peucang to watch wild deer and boar roam free in the park.

14. Cipanon Fishermen village
Cipanon Fishermen village located in the village of Tanjung Jaya, District
Panimbang, Pandenglang District, Banten. To achieve this it took
