atmosphere of the fort city from a height. But before that, visitors will be given the warmth
of the sunset sunlight which is so stunning in the late afternoon. After nightfall, the lights
flashed with various colors that slightly broke the darkness of the night.

sensation of thick fog. For visitors who plan to go camping, prepare a thick jacket to keep
out the cold at night and in the morning.
2. Bahuluang Island
Bahuluang Island is located at the southern tip of Selayar Island, is in the west and is an island
inhabited by local residents.
Bahuluang Beach offers a natural beach charm. The absence of managers who invest in this place,
even further strengthens the authenticity of the beach panorama that spoils marine tourism
connoisseurs.
In one spot in the Bahuluang Island area, there is a coral island that bursts out surrounded by blue
and clear sea water. Doing snorkeling and sunbathing activities are an ideal choice for visitors.
Ideally, from Benteng City, visitors travel overland to Appatanah Village and then continue with a trip
using a jolloro type boat with a capacity of 10 to 15 people. From Appatanah to Bahuluang Island, it
can be reached in about 45 minutes to an hour.
Takabonerate National Park
Takabonerate National Park is the one of the best marine tourism object at South Sulawesi
Province, locates at Selayar Island Regency in the Flores Sea, South of Sulawesi island,
Indonesia. Takabonerate National Park well know as underwater paradise for Diving or

Takabonerate National Park is about 530.765 hectares which has an atoll expanse of about
220,000 hectares, includes about 21 atoll islands in the region.
Takabonerate meaning "coral islands over sand" is the biggest atoll in Indonesia, and the third
biggest in the world after Kwajifein Atol in the Marshal Islands and the Suvadiva Atol in the
Maldives, the area of Takabonerate National Park which consists of the atoll islands and
surrounding marine area was granted as National Park Protection status in about 1992.
Actually Takabonerate National Park is in a very remote location, it consist of about 14 islands,

consists of a chain of islands of dry coral and a large flat sunken reef, forming a large number of
islands. The coral islands are interspersed by narrow, deep, sheer-walled straits. On the coral
flats there are small, deep pools surrounded by coral reefs. At low tide, dry land is clearly visible,
dotted by water flooding into the small pools, its look great and beautiful.
3. Sunari Beach
The Selayar Islands never run out of stock of beach tourist destinations to pamper tourists who
come to visit. One of them is Sunari Beach which is located in Tile-tile Hamlet, Bontoharu District.
Sunari Beach is filled with coconut trees that line almost the entire beach area. The location which is
about 15 km south of the Benteng city can be reached by two-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicles in
only about 30 minutes.
The path from Benteng to the location is the main road that crosses Selayar Island, so the road
conditions are very smooth and well maintained. Using two wheels will offer a more memorable
atmosphere. Along the way we will pass several villages with houses on stills lined on either side of
the road.
Entering Sunari Beach, visitors will be greeted by the beach breeze and the sound of the friction of
coconut leaves being blown by the sea breeze. Inside the location there are several units of
bungalows characterized by houses on stilts typical of the Selayar Islands. For those who want a
quieter and more private vacation, the rate for a room at Sunari Beach is 400 thousand rupiah in one
night.
However, if we only stop at this beach for a short time, each visitor is charged an entrance fee of IDR
10,000. With that fee, visitors can already enjoy the atmosphere inside the location with a stretch of
sand which, although slightly gray in color, still presents an extraordinary attraction.
If we want to enjoy young coconuts directly under the tree, the manager will provide them with a
certain price to be paid.
The facilities and services at Sunari Beach carry the concept of ecotourism. Some of the facilities,
such as benches and tables in several corners, are wood or used materials used by the manager. The
various facilities in this place use materials from nature as much as possible, even some of them are
materials that for some people are no longer useful
With the sea and well-maintained beaches, swimming and playing on the beach will certainly be very
exciting, not to mention some of the facilities provided such as beach balloons, swimming tires and
snorkeling equipment at a certain rate that we have to pay
