8. Points to remember while writing a
letter
The letter should get started with the address of the writer
Then the date should come
After that, the designation as well as the address of the
receiver will come
Then the Subject should come, which should be clear and
precise
Add a nice and suitable salutation
Now, start writing the Main body. Make sure that main body is
divided into three-four paragraphs. It is important to make the
letter presentable.
End the letter by using the appropriate words to say thanks.
Then sign off with a name – NOTE, IN BOARD EXAM PAPER,
DO NOT WRITE YOUR OWN NAME!!!

11. Avoid These Common Errors
Don’t write Yours’s instead of Yours.
Don’t write the entire letter in one paragraph.
Don’t ask the editor to do something about a problem.
Students fail to realise that letters to Editors are meant
to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to a
particular problem. Editors have only to publish the
view.
If ‘national daily’ or ‘national newspaper’ is given
instead of any name of newspaper, then you can write
name of any renowned newspaper.
Date format is 12th May, 2020 rather than 12-5-20
