2. 2020 was all about...
Self Care
For me, this meant carving out tiny moments of time to practice mindfulness while
focusing on my own immediate needs. Simple things, like consistent nightly routines and
daily dog walks. Working from home full-time reduced the need for social camouflaging
while in the office, which (unsurprisingly) also helped with my year of self care.

5. Some bummers from this year included...
Last movie caught in theaters: Bad Boys For Life
Rest In Power: Chadwick, Ruth and Alex
Zombie Spider:
A curled up spider poured out of our filtered water pitcher and into my glass.
I turned to grab my phone (to take a picture) and by the time I turned back, the
f***ing spider had reanimated and crawled out of my glass and onto the counter.
F*** spiders.
6. Some nice things from this year included...
Most listened to songs: WAP and Let it Go
Leslie Jones: Live tweets and Supermarket Sweep
Sketching practice: 3-min. or less sketches, tossed upon completion
7. A cool thing I learned…
The Immortal Jellyfish (Turritopsis dohrnii)
is a species of jellyfish that can essentially
live forever (so long as they’re not eaten).

8. Another cool thing I learned…
There are five turtle species native to Colorado:
Common Snapping Turtle (Chelydra serpentina serpentine)
Ornate Box Turtle (Terrapene ornata ornate)
Western Painted Turtle (Chrysemys picta bellii)
Western Spiny Softshell (Apalone spinifera hartwegi)
Yellow Mud Turtle (Kinosternon flavescens flavescent)
9. North Star I kept turning to…
Draw It Out!
Drawing out a problem helps clarify who and what is involved, how they all work
together and areas for improvement. Drawing is also a great stress reliever.
10. 2021 will be about...
Meeting Obligations and
Being Kind.
11. The tools I will use to get there…
Data,
Writing and
Drawing.
