1. Young Professionals of Jasper County Dec. 13 Meeting
Nathan Unsworth told us about the Wellness Coalition Kickoff at the Jan. 7 Basketball Game. There will
be events during both games. Nathan will have more information at the Jan. 10 meeting about future
events.
New officers were elected to 12 month terms.
President – Kristin Titus
Vice President – Brendan Lamont
Secretary/Treasurer – Angie Mowbray
Battle of the Bands was discussed. Jeremy Berndt has talked with a contact at Thunder Nites. They have
bands lined up for 2014 but the winner could be featured in 2015. Zach, Christine, Phil, Nikki, Nathan
and Amanda will be on the committee to organize.
A copy of the bylaws will be sent out to everyone prior to the Jan. 10 meeting at the Chamber office.
Travis is checking to make sure the office is available. We will also be replacing board members and
discussing board positions.
Lonnie Portner was elected as our Chamber representative. He will go to meetings, breakfasts and
events to give updates to the chamber and back to us.
The Chili Cookoff raised $232 for the Courthouse Lighting Fund.
We discussed creating a presentation that we could give to police and fire departments to increase
membership. The presentation would be used with other groups as well.
The city is planning an employee recognition event in March.
