The YPJC March 14 meeting discussed several upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. They talked about showing movies at the Capitol II theater on April 17-18 and need to check movie availability. Alex and Jeremy volunteered to take over the Philanthropic committee since Christine is moving. They also discussed volunteering to help with painting and touch ups at Red Pride Day. The group is interested in volunteering for Relay for Life and donating to the Backpack Buddies program. Sveta will look into a social painting outing in May and Nathan a golf outing in June. The next meeting will likely be on April 8 at 4:30 at one of the schools.

1. YPJC March 14 Meeting Minutes at Boulders Inn and Suites
Nathan gave a quick update on the Iowa Wild game tickets. There are 15 people that went on March 22.
We talked about sponsoring a movie at Capitol II. We talked about showing the movie late on April 17
and an afternoon show on April 18. Angie is going to check with Dawn about the listed movies to see if
they are available.
Goonies
The Outsiders
Despicable Me
Shrek
The Lion King
Honey I Shrunk the Kids
Spiderman (Tobey Maguire)
Harry Potter
The staff at the theater is still volunteers so we could work concessions to be more visible as sponsors.
Since Christine is moving, we need to fill the Philanthropic committee. Alex and Jeremy volunteered to
take over the committee. We also talked about activities for this committee. Nathan brought up some of
the activities with Red Pride Day. Phil usually works on a mural. We could volunteer to help with
painting/touch ups after the students are gone.
Relay for Life was discussed again. Can we light luminaries? Is there any way that we could help other
than having a team?
We also discussed the Backpack Buddies program. We could give a donation after Thanks with Franks
and help pack backpacks.
We discussed the meeting formats and how formal we want to be. Everyone likes the agenda and
minutes being posted. The casual meeting format works for everyone.
Jeremy brought information about having a food booth at Thunder Nites. The booth would be $50 for
each time we wanted to go. There was some interest in doing it once or twice but not each time. We will
discuss it further at the next meeting.
Sveta is going to look into a social painting outing in May. Nathan is going to look into a golf outing in
June. Hopefully it will be warm enough.
Danielle said the Main Street committee still needs members.
Kristin is setting up the next meeting. It will probably be at 4:30 on April 8 at one of the schools. She will
get us more details.
