1. YPJC Meeting – May 6 at the Arboretum
Kristin gave a quick update on the turnout for Despicable Me. There were approximately 375 people in
attendance.
Bowl for Kids Sake team – Danielle and Kristin are on the team raised $165. Keep in mind for next year!
We are having a social event on May 8 at Okoboji with appetizers. We will try to get prospective
members there. The first softball game is also Thursday night.
Nathan and Bryan asked for volunteers for the Get to Newton 250 at the Speedway on May 17 and 18.
Volunteer times are:
Saturday, May 17 – 9:30-12:30, 12:30-4:30, and 4:30-8:00
Sunday, May 18 – 9:00-1:00
Volunteers will get a t-shirt and tickets to the races and be involved with promoting Newton with fun,
interactive activities.
Nathan is planning a golf outing for Saturday, June 14. Stay tuned to Facebook for more details.
We will start talking about Thanks with Franks at the June meeting. Come with ideas to get people to
stick around for the entire event.

At the conclusion of our business meeting, the OPEN delegation of 5 Russian businesswomen shared
their experiences while in Newton and the US. They told us about the cities they were from. They told us
a little about their businesses and how organizations are different.
