classes to prepare students for specific careers as well as classes that transfer for general ed-
ucation credit into a four-year college or university. Students are reminded that these are col-
lege classes and should be treated as such (extra reading, longer papers, more responsibility).

All classes meet at the Linn County Regional Center on Boyson Rd. There is a separate
application process for these academies through Kirkwood facilitated by Mr. Schemmel in
Guidance. Courses meet either the first two or last two periods of the XHS school day.
