My Lessons Learned in High School
1. Essay on Attending High School
High School
Do you remember your high school days? High school
for me has proved to be a learning experience and also a
challenge. There are many lessons that can be learned.
You can learn more about yourself, who your friends are,
what kind of help is offered to you, and what your
strengths and your weaknesses are. Attending
High School helped build my confidence because my
classmates were supportive, my teachers taught me how to
study for tests, and the math tutors helped me overcome
my fear of math.
My classmates were supportive in many ways. I used
to attend study groups for the subjects that I was

Most students would wait until the last
minute to study and try to cram all the information on a
test in one night. But my teachers stressed that studying
a little bit at a time would be the best way to go about
learning the material. Another way they tried to provoke
studying would be by telling us to study in a group.
This method worked, but the method that I found that
helped me the most was by using flash cards. It was a
good way of studying especially for a test that had lots
of definitions on it. But I found it much easier to look at
a single piece of information instead of a whole page of
notes at one time. Overall, teachers do not just teach you
the facts from the books. They can help you sharpen your
study skills by showing you new ways of learning.
Lastly, the tutors at the school helped me to overcome my
biggest fear and that was math. They helped me realize
3. that if you take math one step at a time, it will be a
lot easier than trying to learn it all at once. The
tutors also made it easier for me by teaching me to
relate math to something I enjoy. A simple example would be
if you were having problems with percents. And they would
tell you to relate it to something like when you go shopping
and clothes have a certain discount. It carries the same
principle. And this method can help you overcome a fear

4. My Greatest Accomplishment In High School
A Found Friend I thought I knew everything about high school then I met Da'kevus Arceneaux. Well it was 7 o'clock in Ms. Phyllis's English 1 first
hour when De'kevus Arceneaux smoothly cruised into the classroom with a smile from ear to ear. De'kevus discussed with me how high school
changed him and helped him grow and he answered with a bright smile and clear answers. Speaking with De'kevus, I learned more about the high
school experience, coming of age and making future plans. Da'kevus had a very good experience when it came to sports and academics. I asked
Da'kevus, "What was your biggest accomplishment in high school and how did you accomplish it". Da'kevus answered "My biggest
accomplishment is where I am now, my senior year, you must stay focused and do what you need to do to get where you want to be.". Da'kevus
excelled very well in Track and Cross Country. Da'kevus said : I ran track because i love running.". Now I know more about Carencro High school, I
also learned more about Cross country. Da'kevus has matured so much during his years at Carencro High school. I asked Da'kevus "How has high
school changed you?" he answered by saying "High School changed me because at first I was shy but it changed me to open up to people and it taught
me how to speak to people, like you need to be able to speak to people for jobs and your life further beyond. Da'kevus and I were having a

5. Why I Want To Go To High School Essay
I have been thinking about high school since was young. I thought it was so far away and now I am ready to graduate middle school and go to high
school. This got me thinking about college. I realize that I need to find a high school that will help me succeed and reach my goal of going to college.
I need a program that will help me find new things that will interest me. As an 8th grader getting ready to go into high school I was looking at
applications and, I came across Lake View High School and I was intrigued. As I read on I was satisfied with what I read because I know that this
program will help me succeed in high school and college. Knowing that, I really want to be a part of this school. Lake View is a HOME, which
represents the four core values of: Honor, Ownership, Mastery, andEducation. At Lake View I will be contributing to these core values, but the one that
I will be concentrating on is Education. Education is something that I need before anything, before college, before high school. Education has me
thinking about what I want to be when I grow up, what kind of professional. When someone asks me "What do you want to be when you grow up?" I
would want to have a response and that...show more content...
I want to learn new things that interest me. I want to be able to realize my goals. I have recently discovered my love for reading. I hope to be able
to learn strategies that will help make me a better reader as well as a better writer. If I contribute to the core value of education, I know I will
succeed at that skill with the new strategies that I will learn. With HOME, I have an opportunity to contribute to all of the values: Honor, Ownership,
Mastery, and Education. This school will give me different aspects of education. I have many goals in life, in high school and college, so being able
to be part of Lake View HOME, I will be contributing to the core

6. When Has High School Taught Me Essay
In school, I learned many ways the world has been changing, the people and the environment. Something that I like about the schools I went to, gives
the students a good environment to work and learn in. The teachers gave all the students a chance to learn what they had to teach us. School has given
me the education to get me where I am now, high school. My schools have given helped teach me a life lesson on how the world can give me a hard
time or go on smoothly, but most importantly, school has taught me to follow my dreams and never give up on what I think is right.
As school has given me a good place to study in, I like the places that are clean and safe rather than messy and unsafe. Even if my middle school
was a bit treacherous, I tried my best to ignore it all and work hard by thinking about how I wanted to end up, to live in the same house with my
parents for the rest of my life, or to go...show more content...
After each year of school, my teachers got better at teaching. I think it was because that they were given the talent to know what each student
understands and what the students don't understand. Over the years of going to school, I hear students saying,"I want to have a "fun" teacher for this
period." The thing about most "fun" teachers is that they don't really teach a lot and they concentrate on having fun with the students although I know
that not all "fun" teachers are bad at teaching. I would much rather have a smart teacher who has experience on actually teaching the kids because
school isn't a time to have fun, it's a time to learn what you don't know and understanding what you already know even better. I know that the teachers
give every kid to learn, but it is the student's decision if they want to go to school for the actual purpose of going to school, or go to school just to

7. Why Go To High School Essay
The reason why I want to attend Cass Technical High School is because I want to be challenged to my full academic ability. I've always wanted to
go to Cass since I was a little boy in elementary. When I was in 8th grade, I truly wasn't challenged by the work I had, so my mother told me that I
would get challenged at a school like Cass. I don't believe that I have been challenged at the school I go to now. I believe I can do better at your school
because I will always have enough work in my classes and never will get bored when I'm finished. I put my homework as a priority before other things
when I get home. I have always been an all "A" student since I was a little kid. I want to go to Cass so I can achieve my full

8. My High School Experience Essay
When people start high school they're usually so excited. They can't wait to experience everything that comes with being in high school, I mean
who wouldn't? Everyone says that high school is the best four years of your life. Now that I'm months away from graduating, I can't say they were
my best years but I can say they were my most educational years, of course I wouldn't say that they weren't fun because they were. When I say
educational, I mean I've learned so much about myself and so much about life. I learned what the words family, love, betrayal, law and life meant. All
these events changed me, and I'm glad they happened because I wouldn't have learned all these lessons. My personality hasn't changed; I'm still a

My freshmen and sophomore year, I had my first real boyfriend. I was completely and totally in love with this guy, he changed me in ways that I'm
proud of and ways that I'm not proud of. I revolved my world around him, which wasn't a good idea. After almost two years of dating, we broke up
and it literally shattered my world. During our relationship I became friends with his friends and I even considered one of them my best friends,
so when we broke up I didn't only loose him, I lost all of them as well. It felt so awful to all of a sudden have everything, and then just lose
everything in a day. A couple of weeks later, I found out that my best friend was actually dating my ex boyfriend. I couldn't believe that a person
could betray someone like that, especially after everything that she and I went through together. I'm not proud of the events that happened after
all of this, and I'm not proud of how I let them change me. The one thing that saved me was my family; they saved me in ways I can't even explain.
They gave me hope and a new life for me that I am extremely grateful for. I've learned to be wiser when it comes to picking friends, and choosing
who to put my trust in. I also became a stronger person, I don't let people walk all over me or I don't let people control my life anymore. The last
event is the one that taught me the most about how hard life is, and how life isn't always fair. My junior year was spent in Tijuana,

9. My Last Year Of High School
These year in my last year of high school we were all assessed a "senior project" . The idea was we have more fun doing our own think . As if

some guy anywhere else know ? At first a cast off the idea as just another lame brain plan that was unfounded until a television program change my
mind . So I presented a crash course journal on Texas . Wildlife, economy, history culture so forth . Now being born with dyslexia I have a hard time
with spelling and other literary thing in that field of work so despite it all this project actual help me work on that . (the only prize I will give the
senior project and it supporters ) . so after my letter of intent was approved I set Out and began working on building a real image of Texas for someone

11. Why I Chose High School Essay
After graduating from Conroe High School, I want to attend to Lone Star College Montgomery simply because it's closer to where I live, and
because it's more affordable than any other state institution. I really don't feel like going to another college that is far away from home, because that
would mean that I would have to stay in campus which is more expensive. I want to go to Lone Star for two years to complete my basics.
The cost per semester at LSC is $800, so the total cost per two years at LSC is $3,200. It would've probably been more affordable if I had taken Dual
Credit classes in high school to earn college credit and to accelerate my college completion, but I wanted to make my high school life easier by taking
level classes. To say the least, I was too much of a coward to challenge myself. Lone Star is perfect for me because most of my friends will attend there.
If I need help with any of my school work in college, it'll be easier to reach my friends. Whereas, if we went to different colleges, we would have to
drive really far just to see each other. Also, if I my car ever breaks down and I'm left without a ride to college, then I know that I can count on my
friends for a lift. As gratitude for their help, my friends know that...show more content...
It is a fraction of the cost of a four year university. For instance, former high school graduates that are going to TX A&M have to pay about $4,575

tremendous difference! I am aware that if I went to Lone Star and I'm competing with someone that went to one of those famous and expensive state
institutions, then I know that I most likely won't get chosen by whichever job I was applying for, but that won't make me regret having chosen LSC.
I'm glad that I chose to attend to Lone Star College

12. The High School Experience Essay
The High School Experience
The high school experience is something that will forever dominate the psyche of most American adults. It was an unforgettable time of fun,
rebel–rousing, summer loves and parties. It was a time of warm summer days at the pool and chilly autumn nights, watching the football team and
wondering were the party was going to be that night. School dances and hotel parties. Seems like all I can remember are the good times. High School is
a very emotional time for many teens and everything matters. The insidious problems that I had to face are but a smudge on my memory, things like
too much homework, zits, mean people, gossip, and algebra. The social atmosphere that permeated every aspect of high school could...show more

"The Breakfast Club" characterizes this phenomena by depicting the "jock, the brain, the basketcase, the princess, and the juvenile delinquent". In the
movie each character is representative of the social class to which they belong. The "jock" signifies the sports star that can do no wrong, but the movie
character bullies another boy and when caught all he received was detention. Although on the other hand the delinquent who is a dope smoking, foul
mouthed punk, received the same punishment for talking back to a teacher. Administrators and teachers are very quick to meet out severe punishment
to those students that they have deemed worthless, while good kids get a slap on the wrist. The movie's jock is placed in Saturday detention, instead of
being suspended, so that he may wrestle in an upcoming tournament; a case in which Hollywood makes an accurate depiction. This is the "holding of
power" that Wehlage and Rutter spoke about in their study, High School and Beyond. Students who receive better treatment seem to do better in school
when subjected to "an orderly environment, a committed and caring faculty, and an emphasis on academic pursuits"(Nieto,100).
The movie goes on to compare and contrast the "princess" and the "basketcase", both seventeen year old girls who endeavor male attention, yet one is
the cool crowd prom queen and the other is the loser, burnout crowd weirdo. Brian, the narrating brain, is a

13. My Experience At High School Essay
High School: A time in our lives that sets the mold for who we are going to be in this world. It does this by teaching us great lessons about life,
ourselves, and other people through various experiences. One of these experiences I chose to take part in was football. It was this decision that
led me to this fateful day. A day in which my left leg was shattered and my perspectives on life were drastically changed. The journey I had embark
on to deal with all of the after effects of this event taught me life lessons I'll never forget. It was October 24th, 2014. This date fell on a Friday and
during football season that meant it was game day for most high school teams. Not just any game though, it was our district championship. I
remember it all like it was yesterday. The smell of the fresh cut grass was so satisfying and the grass itself was even more delightful to see on the
field. The atmosphere was phenomenal. Both cheer squads were screaming their chants. Fans and parents alike were yelling and clapping. My
shoulder pads were fastened tight around my ribs and shoulders. The adrenaline was flowing through my veins. My mind was prepared for the game
but not what was about to befall me. This is where the story starts to spiral downwards. It was about five minutes into the first quarter and we ran up
the middle. I was the designated lead blocker. I lunged at the linebacker full force and knocked him down. I had so much momentum going towards him
that I went straight to the

14. My High School Journey
At the beginning of my high school journey, it was scary. Just the thought of a new school, meeting new people, and the fact that this would be my
last years before becoming an "adult" and getting closer to college, was unbelievable, yet scary. My high school journey had many ups and down.
These ups and downs vary because I experienced them in my academics and socially. I can't forget that I learned a lot and met many different
personalities, with people whom I trust and had many great times. Also as growing up throughout high school, I'm slowly seeing who I am. I know this
is not the end of life, just a great piece of my life will end and everything will soon change again. I can give so many advices to just start off great at
the beginning of anyone's high school journey. I think it's important to join clubs, activities,or sports so you can meet new people. It's important to
surround yourself with people who will take their education seriously because at the end of high school, you will see how far you got by being
surrounded with positive people and that's a benefit because you concentrate and achieve excellent grades and that leads to good colleges. Also,
joining more clubs and participating looks great with your cap and gown at the graduation! Another advice is do NOT procrastinate, I have done it
so many times and it sucks to sleep late and wake up early and by doing so, you avoid stress which is a pain in the butt. Do your homework, get good
grades, and ask

15. My High School Year Essay
There was a point in my time where I enjoyed school and took pleasure in attending school and that was elementary. Those were the best school years
of my life, having nothing to care about, the school lunch was unbelievably amazing and we had recess. Middle school was manageable but was also
beginning to become tough because the classes were becoming difficult. As we approach the beginning of ourhigh school career, parents and teachers
always tell us students that it's the best four years of our life, which in my case I did not find high school fascinating or enjoyable. I found high
school to be very stressful, overwhelming and not easy, understanding that the next four years of my life will be filled with obstacles and
challenges that I will face. I knew that I would have challenges with my courses, but I did not think I would have trouble with my emotions such as
feeling depressed, sad, or that I would cry every other day, but to some teachers or parents thought it was normal for teenagers because we are going
through different phases of our life. My freshman year was probably the best year of my high school year but I did face many challenges. I was
immature, did not obey my teachers, always getting in some sort of trouble. I was carefree, fun, outgoing and had decent memories whether they were
good memories or bad memories. Towards the middle of my freshman year I found out that I had Hyperthyroidism, and was quite confused and did not
understand what it meant. As I

When working at Wade King in Mr. Denton's fourth grade classroom, I found that the students were very excited to have Nicole and me as guest
teachers for their math hour. I had never worked with fourth grade students before, so their warm and inviting attitudes help calm my nerves. The
lessons went well and I was surprised by some of the students' connections that they had made throughout our lessons. For example, there were several
students that would bring up things that we hadn't talked about yet, but we were going to at the end of the lesson. Like the connection that certain
fractions were larger than other fractions and this connection tied into the end of the lesson where we would place fractions on a number line by
smallest to largest. It was so exciting to see students making these connections on their own and understanding the content that was being taught. I also
felt like I was able to support the students very well when they had questions or difficulty with the lesson. I must admit, I was intimidated by the new
fancy school and the fact that the students knew Chinese! Also, never having worked with fourth graders before, I didn't know what to expect or if I
was truly prepared. Then we began teaching and the students had questions that I could confidently answer! Everything that I had learned paid off and
it was such a good feeling to be able to support students learning. Something else that went well was teaching to Bridges. Bridges is so easy to follow

High School Sports In high school many kids often choose not to participate in extra curricular activities saying that there pointless or that only a
certain type of person would do something like play football, or join the chess club. While this type of thinking may get some people through school
and through life, can it really be looked at as being a healthy lifestyle? Today sports have proven to be a healthy outlet for students, in dealing with

As far as athletes on the field a great many lessons are often learned there and one of the biggest lessons is sportsmanship. For any sports played
teamwork is often times essential for winning. It also allows for a person to become more confident in their own abilities allowing them to become
more proud and not ashamed of what they can or cannot do. It allows players to build bonds among their teammates and while this maybe be one of
the main creators of the "jocks hang out with jocks" stereotype it is only because athletes feel a connection to someone that is going through the
same time of training and emotions that sports tend to create. Sportsmanship teaches a person the value of working together in groups and allows
the player to learn how to adjust to situations that he or she may not agree with. The work ethic sportsmanship creates is also carried off the field as
well into the school and more importantly the working environment, because we all know that in our lifetimes we are going to have to work with
someone that we do not like or agree with. And having the ability to be able to work through a problem which sportsmanship can do allows for an
easier job experience. Athletes also tend to be generally much more healthier than non–athletes, do to the type of training and experiences they are put
through for their respective sports. Athletes

High School vs. College A very important part of life is education. In order to acquire a satisfying education, one should complete high school prior to
college. College and high school have two different levels of education, but both are trying to further student's knowledge. As recent high school
graduates and college freshman's many can clarify similarities and differences between the two. Some obvious similarities are that both have
assignments, classrooms, and students. Although college and high school have many differences three of the main ones are the teachers, classes, and
responsibilities. Teachers and college professors are one main difference. Teachers in high school often write notes on an overhead and tell you the

Classes are the second main reason high school differs from college. Classes in high school generally consist of no more that 25 students.
Counselors usually arrange your schedule the way they think is best for you. You are not responsible for knowing what it takes to graduate. Usually
the school year is 26 weeks long; classes may have to be taken the whole year in order to get credit for them. You are graded on most assignments done
in class. In college some classes may have from 75–100 students. It is your responsibility to enroll in the classes that are required for your major, plus
a week for final exams. The year is divided into two 14 week semesters; most classes need to be taken the complete semester in order to get credit.
College professors tend to grade students on tests and major papers. Responsibility has a lot to do when it comes to high school and college. When
you attend high school you are provided textbooks for each class. Your time is usually structured by others (parents and/or teachers). Many parents
are there to wake you up in the morning before school starts. In high school you are required to go to school everyday. You often read or hear
presentations once in order to learn what you need to know. Students are expected to read short stories at home which will be re–taught in class. When
in college you must pay for each textbook necessary for class.

presence of nervousness wash over me. The thought finally struck me like a lightning bolt that I am a senior in high school. I didn't know what I was
