These IMPs require strict temperature
control to stay between 2° and 8° C before
use. If there was a delay in the very last
segment of the delivery process the entire
shipment could be rendered worthless.

They have a window of viability of as little
as 48 hours even in their temperature-
controlled packaging. If a delivery is left for
example at a hospital or university reception
desk or loading bay, it will not be long
before the product becomes unusable.

If packaging is not returned, the costs of the
program escalate dramatically - and in up to
half of the roughly 50 deliveries a day, the
packaging never found its way back to the
customer.
