2. Creative director
A creative director is a position often
found within lots of different media
production. They would have the
responsibtly for leading teams and
developing creative guidelines and
directing. In X factor the creative director
would be making sure that all set is done
and ready. They would also have to make
sure that the host are ready.
3. Camera man
A camera man would be responsible for operating a variety of technical
equipment including single and multiple portable, remote – control and
electronic cameras, cranes and mobile mountings.
4. Audience Warm Up
An audience warm up is an act that
would get the crowd ready for the
main act. Most warm up acts would be
a comedian that would haven an act
before the show to get people happy
and in the mood. X factors has had
multiple warm up acts like Alan Carr,
Jonathan ross or Ian Royce.
5. Music Supervisor
A music supervisor is a person who combines music and visual media. In X factor their
music supervisor is Meryl Ginsberg. What this person would do in X factor would be
different from another show they would make sure there is background music but
also make sure the songs performed by contests are cleared. If songs are not cleared
this would be copyright and could costs the show a lot of money.
6. Talent Researcher
A talent researchers role is a very similar to an A&R (Artists and repertoire) role is to
find and develop new artists. They would be able to do this in a variety of ways. They
would scout through lots of different website (sound cloud, youtube..etc) and gigs
checking lots of different artists. I found an assistant talent research called sunny
Govenden that worked on X Factor.
7. Dubbing Mixer
The dubbing mixer would make sure all sound elements (vocals,
instrumentation, background music and sound effects. Etc) all come
together at the right moment to build the tension or to bring out the feels
of the show when an underdog gets all 4 ‘Yes’s.
8. Event Manager
This person would need to make sure audition, stage of boot camp and live
show are carefully planned by an event manager, making sure everything run
smoothly before and after the credits.
9. Grip
Grips are trained lighting and rigging technicians. Their main responsibility is
to work closely with the electrical department to put in the non – electrical
components of lighting set- ups required for a shot.
10. Production designer
The production designer is responsible for creating the visuals for X Factor
for example the main stage the hosts makeup and clothes. The production
designer would have a lot on their plate to make sure that everything looks
perfect.
