2015
On the 16th September, I provided sound education at a preschool called 'Playdays' located
in Rouse Hill. http://www.playdayspreschool.com.au
This was my first gig of this kind.
I introduced many of the kids to the concept of sound.
I then recorded their voices, and transformed the voices into a swarm of bees, robots,
trapped in a bubble, and various other things.
Key Roles
• Educator
• Lesson Designer
• Sound Designer
• Performance Designer
• Audio Systems Designer
Key Achievements
• By means of my sound design, I had some kids rolling on the floor with laughter
• In most cases, I made the kids aware of sound, what it is, and what we listen with
(i.e ears)
• I gained much insight into how children operate in relation to preference, attention,
and stimulus that triggers a reaction.
2015
From the 17-30/07/2015
I was involved in a project with the sound production company 'Sounds and Motion'.
The project was for News Corp in relation to their Come Together event held at stage 7, Fox
Studios.
This event was organised by the event company Rizer.
Key Roles
• Assembler of the immersive sound system in the content creation studio.
• Source and purchase furniture for the content creation space.
• Creating a network for synchronising audio and video.
• The Interface between Artists in Motion (animation company) and Sounds and
Motion, ensuring we are working with the up-to-date and approved versions of
content.
• QLab programmer
• Immersive sound system operator at the the event.
Key Achievements
• This was my first event experience, Trial by Fire!!
• The Boss (Des O'Neill) was asking me to do things that I have never done before
which was a huge challenge, yet I forged ahead not only learning more skills but also
executing the tasks.
• I spent 4 days working on Video triggering / sync configurations and because of that
time spent, I learnt the cue scheduling program 'QLab 3' out of necessity.
This enabled me to be a big asset during prep and rehearsals at the venue.
• I was able to assist my boss with some issues (program functions, key commands)
when he was searching for answers.
e.g
The Boss wanted to increase the performance of the computer, so I recalled my
knowledge of Virtual Memory and did some research on how to do it in Windows 7
and made it happen.
It worked!!
• As soon as I arrived at the venue I immediately introduced my self to everyone.
I remembered 11 names and their corresponding job descriptions.
This helped me become more comfortable with the process, hence I enjoyed the
experience.
• I used my 21 systems principles to decode these new environments,
information interchange, and my position.
• Live events are like tight rope walking, but the gig was a success.
• Observing Des create technical solutions was inspirational.
This motivated me to create units for system configurations (topologies)
which can be snapped together to make very complex systems.
See http://www.iosono-sound.com/news/detailansicht/3d-event-sound-for-news-corp/
for the IOSONO news report of the event.
2015
My Sister and I organised my Mum and Dad's 40th
wedding anniversary.
The event took place at Richmond Club and was for 82 people.
Key Role
Audio / Visual Production
Key Achievements
I used a systems principles model that I devised and applied it to the destination system
stage and the creation system stage.
This was a complete success!
All expectations my Sister and I had were exceeded and the attendees were moved by the
results.I learned a lot about digital image parameters, image processing, image metering,
and Final Cut Pro.
Before organising photos into FCP I wrote a broad event sequence.
This directly influenced my storage structures in FCP and the result was a low stress,
enjoyable process.
I became very good at making Scenes, Colour / Texture Convolutions and Story-lines.
I also was able to utilise my music composition, sound design, and sound editing skills.

2013
I provided a service for an AIM student's final music recital (i.e Reece Davis).
The theme was a hybrid of iconic video game pieces and heavy metal.
The pieces included were Mario Bros, Zelda, Tetris plus another set containing iconic
film/series pieces including Doctor Who, Pirates of the Caribbean.
Key Roles:
• Sound Designer
• Synthesiser programmer for the live event
• Mainstage programming
Key Achievements:
Having the opportunity to analyse/create famous video game sounds was a challenging yet
exciting task.
I delved further into FM synthesis and developed various re-synthesis techniques.
I also learnt about Mainstage's many quirks.
I became very good at arranging these kinds of multi-bank sessions.
In the entire mainstage session there were close to 100 software channels, and a keytar, so
creating a stable system was nothing short of a nightmare, but the show rolled on without a
a glitch.
2013 – Present
I am a Jehovah's Witness, and an aspect of my total activity is being a part of a school for
public speaking.
The school's purpose is to develop effective communication skills.
I have verbally delivered material to a crowd of up to 140 people.
2012
I have worked as Technical Advisor and Musical Director for performances by an artist that I
was co-developing named Brendan Jacquet.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBIBAYIHo70
Key Roles:
• Pre-production
• Organising rehearsal sessions
• Selection of backing musicians / performers
• Hire of equipment and venues
• Oversight of production operations
Key Achievements:
Working in this role, I continued to increase my understanding of what is needed and the
skills required when dealing with production and people.
The largest technical challenge was creating solutions for synthesizer configurations
in turn I acquired a cohesive understanding of MIDI.

https://soundcloud.com/d-ville990
I worked with Chris Gray (Sound Engineer) on this project.

Key Achievements:
The experience I gained from working with Chris Gray and communicating with Mark
Needham influenced my growth and knowledge of what is required in the entertainment
industry.

https://soundcloud.com/d-ville990
Key Achievements:
This venture exposed me to what is involved in the process of production, running sessions,
the mix stage and mastering and what not to do through hands-on experience.
In the mix stage I got to work with Anton Hagop (Silverchair, Powderfinger, Missy Higgins)
at Studios 301 Sydney.
Through direct conversation and observation he gave me insights into music arranging
and some production techniques (for eg. recording a room response post-production)
