2. The Stockdale Paradox
Retain faith that you will
prevail in the end,
regardless of the
difficulties.
Confront the most brutal
facts of your current
reality, whatever they
might be.
AND at the
same time

3. When times are tough, when we are
uncertain about what the future
holds, it is easy to spend time
worrying about our concerns. We
tend to focus on things we can’t do
anything about, which leads to more
worry and a feeling of helplessness.

4. If we focus on the things we can do,
on the things we can influence, in
short, if we become proactive, then
our circle of influence will tend to
increase, and we will feel positive.

5. Choose a Positive Mindset
The Robertson family were adrift in the Pacific Ocean 322
km west of the Galapagos Islands. After 7 days in a lifeboat,
a passing ship failed to see them and Dougal Robertson
adopted a positive mindset: “We will survive without them”.
The Robertsons, with their 4 boys, were picked up off the
coast of South America after 38 days adrift. Dougal said:
“the rescue came as a welcome interruption to the survival
voyage”.
Your mindset is your choice - make it positive.
