This document provides instructions for an assignment requiring students to interview managers from two small businesses that sell different products. Students must conduct a 15-minute interview with each manager to discuss their company's organizational structure. Students should have managers describe and draw their organizational chart, explain why they chose that structure, and reflect on how effective and efficient it is. Students also need to ask managers if they have considered changing their structure. The assignment requires students to submit a 2-page APA formatted paper summarizing the interviews and addressing the topics in a clear and concise manner. References from the course textbook or other sources are required.

1. Select two small businesses that market two very different
products, for example, a small manufacturer and a restaurant.
Contact the manager of each business and conduct a fifteen-
minute interview about the organizational structure that has
been chosen. Ask each manager to describe the existing
organizational structure (drawing an organization chart),
explain why that structure was chosen, and reflect on the
effectiveness and efficiency of the structure. Also ask each
manager whether any thoughts have been given to changing the
existing structure.

content requires staying on topic and fully addresses the
assignment in a clear, concise, and meaningful manner. The

Late submissions will be deducted 5 points.
