1. Law of Attraction
Lesa JohnsonENGL 102.18Spring 2013 Essay #3 (Final Draft) Seeing Is Believing The law of attraction is the name given to the belief that "like
attracts like" and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts one can bring about positive or negative results. This belief is based upon the idea
that people and their thoughts are both made from pure energy, and the belief that like energy attracts like energy. For example, if a person opened an
envelope expecting to see a bill, then according to the law of attraction would confirm those thoughts and contain a bill when opened. A person who
decided to instead accept a check might under the same law would...show more content...
If you want to manifest anything into the physical world, you have got to move out of the desire forming stage and into the alignment stage.
There are two ways in which you can become aligned with your desires, they are believing and feeling good. When you have massive expectation
and actually begin to believe that you have what you are asking for, in that moment you will become perfectly aligned with what it is you want and
so the law of attraction matches like with like and ultimately yields you the stuff. Affirmations and vision boards are examples processes that are
used to yourself believing your desire is already here. The second way of alignment stage is feeling good. This step is the easiest because all you
have to do is feel good and you will manifest the stuff you want. The law of attraction does not hear or see your thoughts; it responds to your
vibration which is primarily affected by your feelings. If you practice these ways of first letting go and then the ways of the alignment stage, it is
a sure thing that it will work. Personally, when we watched the documentary in class two weeks ago I had never heard of the law of attraction or
how it worked. After watching the movie I was skeptical about if it truly worked or not so I decided to do an experiment of my own and see what
would happen when I followed all the rules to the law. I had this huge midterm for my social work class last week

2. Attraction and Liking
Assessing Familiarity and Attraction Kayla Irwin and Daisy Antoniuk PS 250 Alex SandersonâMacIntyre February 28, 2013 "Familiarity Does Indeed
Promote Attraction in Live Interaction," by Reis et al., explores the issue of whether familiarity breeds attraction within individuals in live interaction.
The study's purpose was to explore if familiarity did in fact promote liking in live interaction. This study was exploratory, as it sought to find, through
two experiments, whether or not attraction increased with the amount of familiarity the participants had with one another. Prior literature reviewed was
"Less is more: The lure of ambiguity, or why familiarity breeds contempt," by Norton et al., (2007). This review explores why...show more content...
105 out of 110 (95%) within one standard deviation. Those who did not participate properly in the study were not strikingly different, because they
were still in the same demographic. Experimental design and participant observation was used for this study. This was suited well to research the
question and hypotheses, because the conclusion was based on how participants interacted with one another. The researchers chose this model because
it was necessary for them to find out the information they needed. This was modified for the study, due to the fact that the researchers gathered
information from the participants after the study in regards to their interactions with their partners. This was modified to explore the hypothesis and get
information on a deeper level. What was given to social context in the first study is that the participants were in a lab, which is not a normal social
environment. The participants were also one on one for the first study and were obligated to ask a series of questions, which made this study a
structured social context. Whereas in the second study the participants were anonymous and communicated over the computer, thus there was less
structure. The conclusion stated that there are contextual factors such as age and personality that may influence results, but generally familiarity does
breed attraction. Biologically, all dyads were sameâsex, so sexual attraction did not influence the research. This was

3. A Tourist Attraction
November 16 was a six country day. Several Miguel and I flew over, others we landed in. After leaving Tapachula, Mexico, we over flew
Guatemala and made a fuel stop in El Salvador. We over flew Honduras and Nicaragua, eventually landing in Liberia, Costa Rica. The time spent
over Guatamala turned out to be particularly memorable. The G in Guatemala must stand for green. From the cockpit, my eyes could discern every
imaginable shade of green and no other hues. I had the impression farmers cultivated every available square inch of arable land. Miguel and I were
able to observe VolcĐĐn de Fuego ("Volcano of Fire") on that rare day when neither smoke spewed from it nor clouds floated over it, an impressive
sight. With ease, I grasped...show more content...
Prior to arriving at the airport, in my mind, El Salvador always conjured up Iran Contra and the 1980's Miami Vice type images of guerillas blowing
up buildings. Fortunately, my perceptions turned out to be totally erroneous and our experience, while time consuming, was quite enjoyable. While
talking to one of the workers at the airport, I commented on how outstanding the facilities were, not a difficult comment to express with total
sincerity as the airport was beautiful and the facilities were significantly in excess of adequate. He spoke English fluently and his uncensored, genial
response was, "Do you see how good it can be when you guys (Americans) don't mess around with us?" I heard comparable sentiments expressed
numerous times throughout the trip. Miguel and I were now south of the airports along the border between the United States and Mexico and that
made a world of difference. XXXXX This was the first time we landed at an airport which didn't routinely service private, nonâcommercial airplanes
flying to or from the United States. As Comalapa was an international airport and our plane was extraordinarily diminutive compared to commercial
airliners, controllers directed us to park off to the side of the terminal. Parked there, our plane wouldn't interfere with the international airlines transiting
the jetway while Miguel and I were at customs.
As I mentioned earlier, general aviation is

4. Theories Of Attraction
When a couple meets for the first time, the attraction can be instantaneous. They may describe the meeting as "a shock to the system", or
"electric". When interviewed, the men may say "Everything else in the room faded, all I could see was her." The woman may say "I looked
around the room, and when we locked eyes, I realized I couldn't take my eyes off of him." Could this be love at first sight? Or is this merely a
biological response? In fact, research does find that a person's eyes do change when they see something they desire. "Looking into a lover's eyes is
like looking into a fire...Thanks to a shot of adrenaline, your palms sweat, your breathing gets shallow, your skin feels hot, and your pupils dilate. Your

Endorphins are also released during sex; they provide the "feelâgood, calming" effect that one feels immediately after orgasm. Finally, endorphins are
released through touch, which is why a mother's touch can soothe a crying infant. "Endorphins, for instance, can create the sensation of euphoria and
relief from pain." (Selhub, 33). It is that compelling euphoric feeling that couples describe when they say they have "fallen in love." In her book, A
Natural History of Love, author Diane Ackerman discusses the importance of the hormone oxytocin in a person's experience of love. Oxytocin, also
known as the "cuddle chemical", "plays an important role in romantic love, as a hormone that encourages cuddling between lovers and increases
pleasure during lovemaking...The hormone stimulates the smooth muscles and sensitizes the nerves, and snowballs during sexual arousal."
(Ackerman, 163). Oxytocin is also linked to the feeling of "closeness" that one experiences after intercourse, which may explain why women are
statistically more likely to "fall" for a man that they may know they have no future with, yet they mistakenly associate the feeling they experience after
the release of oxytocin with

5. Law Of Attraction
The law of attraction has three components. These are visualization, affirmations and positive thinking. Believers in the law of attraction techniques are
also called "deliberate creators". They believe that the law of attraction helps them to achieve their goals and get what they want. The law of attraction
is better understood in physics, but it is not well understood when applied to our lifestyles and endeavours. There is no scientific proof about the effects
of visualization, affirmation and positive thinking. It is better left to psychologists. There is a striking similarity in most attraction laws.
The first law of attraction is called 'visualization'. Visualization in simple terms is the act of seeing of mental images. With regards to positive
thinking, it means deliberately creating mental images of your goals. Your goals are your desires and what you want to get or achieve. If you want to
be a multiâmillionaire, you can picture yourself living in mansion and driving an expensive car.
What is misunderstood is the explanation of this concept. I am sure you have understood the definition of visualization in the previous paragraph.
However, you may find it difficult to understand the following definition of visualization from a believer' point of view. What is readily understood
from my simple definition of visualization is the benefit...show more content...
Positive thinking has been discussed by many philosophers, experts and health psychologists. The power of positive thinking can work wonders. It can
release your creative potential and put you on the road to success. However, just like visualization, deliberate creators have a complicated definition of
positive thinking. Once again, the process involves a positive thinker producing vibrations, which are released into the universe. Done with high
emotions and strong belief, the positive thinker is able to produce vibrations that collect to produce positive
