7. 3 different sizes are
1. Award is the shortest and most concise qualification – takes
between 1 and 3 months.
2. Certificate provides a broad base of knowledge and skills – takes
between 3 and 6 months.
3. Diploma provides a comprehensive and extensive programme of
learning - takes between 6 and 12 months.

8. Units and Credits
•Each CMI qualification consist of units, which have a
credit value that tells you roughly, how long it takes to
complete – one credit represents about 10 hours’
work.
• LMC Awards are 6 to 7 credits (60 to 70 hours’ learning =
Total Learning Time)
• LMC Certificates are 13 to 18 credits (130 to 180 hours’
learning = Total Learning Time)
• LMC Diplomas are 37 to 42 credits (370 to 420 hours’
learning = Total Learning Time)
