4. NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token.
Non-fungible means that something
cannot be exchanged for another item
because it’s unique. For instance, one
piece of art is not equal to another.
Both have unique properties

of the tourist
experience, with most
tourists bringing back
mementos and
souvenirs as evidence
Why Souvenirs?
Souvenirs do invoke
emotions but in
ecologically sensitive
areas, the chances of
souvenirs making an
impact in the sensitive
ecological areas are
very high. .

10. FINDINGS
╸ NFTs can be a popular substitute and can be an important factor in
creating a sustainable tourism destination.
╸ Most of the tourists bought souvenirs back from their tourist
destinations. The motivation for souvenirs are mainly for rekindling their
memories about the tourism experience.
╸ Even though most of the respondents prefer tangible souvenirs , with
the passage of time we can expect an influx of intangible souvenirs in
the form of NFTs as the emergence of metaverse being a popular
subject among the masses.
10
11. FINDINGS
╸ Majority of the respondents opinionated that souvenirs impact the
destination in one way or another.
╸ According to the study it is found that NFTs will not replace tangible
souvenirs in the current scenario, but there are high chance in the
upcoming decade with the emergence of blockchain technology and
metaverse becoming popular,
11
12. CONCLUSION
Majority still prefer tangible
assets as a memory of their
tourist experience. This could
change with the rapid inclusion
of technological advancements
such as virtual reality interface
and metaverse
12
13. CONCLUSION
There is an increasing public
awareness of the blockchain and its
various divisions even though it's in
its initial phases and its relation to
the tourism domain and the majority
of the people are well aware of the
technological advancements
