• Galvanizing, or
galvanization, is a
manufacturing process
where a coating of zinc
is applied to steel or iron
to offer protection and
prevent rusting.
• 30,000 metric tons
of steel was needed to
build the megastructure.
• Roughly 4 Eifel towers can be built with 30000 tons
of steel.

7. Galvanization in depth
• The steps in the galvanizing process
are as follows:
• The steel is cleaned in a degreasing
solution
• After being cleaned, the steel is pickled
by being lowered into a vat of diluted
hot sulfuric acid.
• The steel is then dipped in an aqueous
solution of zinc-ammonium chloride.
• The steel is galvanized through
immersion in molten zinc.
• It is inspected for consistency. 7

• As of 2015 the largest single location solar power plant
was the one at Kamuthy(353 days) for 648 MW-
• Second largest at California(3years) for 579MW.
• 10000 MW solar power plant at rajasthan was set as an
ambitious target in 2015(currently the plant is set up for
2245MW – Bhadla Solar power plant).
