• The company/business has been evaluated here is Reliance
Petroleum Limited, which is a part of Reliance Industries. The
Reliance Industries is owned by Mukesh Ambani, an Indian
business tycoon.
• Reliance Petroleum Limited is a company owned by Reliance
Industries Limited (RIL), one of India's largest private sector
companies. It is based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India and has
interests in the downstream oil business. RPL was merged
with Reliance Industries Limited on September 29, 2009
• Reliance focuses on driving the nation towards growth with our
advanced products and services comprising of High-Speed Diesel,
Petrol, Auto LPG, Lubricants, Aviation Fuel, Packed LPG catering to
different segments ranging from two-wheelers to aeroplanes &
farm equipment to heavy engineering vehicles.
• Reliance Petroleum Limited focuses on “Exploration and
Production” sectors of the petroleum industry.
• Reliance Industries is the parent company of Reliance Petroleum
Limited and is a private company. RPL is not controlled by the
government.
• RPL has more demand for ‘crude oil’ and ‘refined petroleum
products’ compared to other processed petroleum products.
The process of transformation of crude oil into the desired
product is done according to the need of the current scenario and
the need for the overall population.
• The RPL is located at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The company unit is
geographically located at Jamnagar refinery.
• Reliance entered the Exploration and Production (E&P) business
by becoming a 30% partner in an unincorporated joint venture
with Shell (erstwhile BG) and ONGC

• The RPL has consolidated turnover of ₹6,22,809 cr, with a market
capitalization of ₹8,63,996 cr. It is one of the worlds largest
private sector and well known among the south Asian petroleum
sector.
• India’s largest retailer by reach, scale, revenue and profitability.
Established presence across key consumption baskets and holds a
leadership position in food, consumer electronics and fashion
retailing.
• Upstream portfolio in India includes operations in conventional
deepwater acreages and the unconventional Coal Bed Methane
(CBM) block.
• Best in the class portfolio, with a complexity of 21.1 of the
Jamnagar refinery.
