RE: Vanessa Ghazarian
Dear Graduate Admissions Officer:
I have had the pleasure of working with Vanessa Ghazarian at Coast to Coast Fulfillment
(CTCF) during the summers of 2012 and 2013. During those summers Vanessa demonstrated her
ability to learn about our business and to initiate changes that have helped our company.
Since Vanessa worked with us for two consecutive summers, I was able to see her grow as a
working professional during each separate time frame. From the start, she integrated herself into
our work atmosphere, established good relationships with other employees, and quickly learned
how the different business departments functioned.
While her internship in the summer of 2012 was one of learning about our business, the summer
of 2013 allowed her to demonstrate leadership and management skills. At the beginning of the
summer of 2013 our office manager was forced to take an extended sick leave. This was while
we were in the process of rapidly expanding our facility and hiring more people. We needed to
find an interim manager quickly. Since Vanessa had already worked closely with our office
manager the prior summer, and worked well with other associates at our company, Vanessa was
able to quickly fill the shoes of her former manager. In her new position she was responsible for
communicating with clients, managing new hires, and overseeing accounts payable, receivable,
and payroll for over fifty employees.
One example of her ability to learn and then to take action was her “Go Green” project in the
summer of 2013. Vanessa found out that our company had, for years, been paying for the
disposal of tons of used cardboard packaging material. She was curious enough to wonder why
we were paying so much for this service, and she started looking for more efficient and less-
costly alternatives. The net result was Vanessa’s “Go Green” project, wherein CTCF is now paid
by a recycler for discarded cardboard, turning what was previously an expense into an income
stream, while also improving our “green” image.
Another instance of Vanessa’s ability to identify hidden assets was with Wayne. She had met
Wayne during her first summer, while he as working in our warehouse. Wayne was a young
father, working in the daytime at CTCF and then studying web development and information
technology at night school. Because our company was expanding quickly, we were in need of
more information technology (IT) managers. Vanessa suggested that we move Wayne from

the warehouse to the IT department. Wayne interviewed for the position and subsequently has
been a huge asset to our IT department.
It was truly a pleasure working with Vanessa Ghazarian. She is an intelligent, enthusiastic young
woman with great initiative. I highly recommend her for your Masters Program in Advertising
for 2015.
