Valerie Vermilya is being recommended for a teaching position. The recommendation letter from Travis Titsworth, principal of the ASSIST Program, states that Ms. Vermilya replaced a teacher mid-semester and did a nice job taking over the classroom. She worked hard to improve the classroom environment, academics, and climate. Although she was let go due to program changes, she is described as a dedicated, hard-working teacher with a passion for teaching English and literature. Titsworth believes she would be a good choice for the school district.

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter to recommend Ms. Valerie Vermilya as a teacher in your school district. During
the 2015-16 school year, Ms. Vermilya was a teacher at the Regional Office of Education ASSIST
Program. She replaced a teacher that had left the program mid semester. She took over our junior high
classroom mid semester and did a nice job of making it her own room. She worked in a room that is
not your typical classroom setting and constantly worked to improve the aesthetics, academics and the
climate in the classroom. Due to changes in the grant-funded program we let her go.
Valerie is a hard working teacher who would often arrive early and stay late so she was prepared for
the upcoming days. She is very knowledgeable in English and literature and brings a lot of insight to
these subjects. She has a great passion for teaching and loves to present the material to the students.
She is very dedicated to the student learning and would be a good choice for your district.
If you have any questions regarding this recommendation please don’t hesitate to call me at (618) 553-
3584.
